The other day, I went to the supermarket, hoping for a quick and simple shopping trip, but it turned into a nightmare thanks to the cashier—a woman with short hair. It all started when I politely asked for the 10% student discount they offer from Monday to Wednesday. I brought along a letter to prove I was eligible, but when I handed it to her, she just stared at it like it was the most suspicious thing she’d ever seen.nnShe asked me for a student card, which I didn’t have with me, and then looked back at the letter like it was completely useless. I understand that she might face a lot of people who hand documents that aren’t real, but that’s not the point. At that moment, I felt so small, like she thought I was trying to pull a scam or something or at least that’s how I felt. Instead of handling it professionally, she sighed dramatically and then hit me with, “You’re in Quebec. You should speak French” I couldn’t believe it—we’d gone from a simple discount to a language lecture.nnThen came the cherry on top: with this overly sweet tone, she said, ‘If you speak French and you’re studying French, you should talk to me in French. Otherwise, you’ll never learn.’ It didn’t feel helpful—it felt like a jab. Her comments were laced with judgment or at least that’s how I feel, and the whole situation left me feeling embarrassed and frustrated. I went straight home and cried.nnI walked out of the store completely drained. All I wanted was a simple discount, and instead, I got treated like an inconvenience and subjected to a lecture I didn’t ask for. It’s safe to say I’ll think twice before going back there.
I am going to be honest- I hate that this is the closest big grocery store near my house. Don’t buy the chicken if it’s on sale, it’s gone bad. I bought ground chicken and used it day of, rotten. I went today hoping to find a whole chicken. I poked a hole in the plastic and yup, a rotten halal chicken sitting in the cool with a 30% off sticker. I was so disgusted I’m just never going to buy poultry from there ever again. Not to mention that it’s convoluted to get in and out of that place. They do so much to stop attempted shoplifting that they make shoppers feel like suspects. There are motion sensing gates at the entrances that are tricky to set off, and only one cashier amid 10 self checkouts that are constantly in need of employee intervention. Dear Super C, you should be more concerned with giving someone food poisoning than theft. You should give your one cashier some relief and set up one or two cashes instead of these annoying self checkouts, I don’t work here.
Nice store with spacious isles. Some prices are competitive, when there are promotions. There are lot of product choices.nTh only downsize bout my early morning shopping 08:40 AM is that all the automatic cashiers were closed, and there was only a single cash register, which means a lineup.
For one employee there and the price it worth 5 stars but really always clean, staff never look depress. It's a great grocery, as the price also!
Smallish sized grocery store with strange lay out. Employees were a mix of friendly and helpful and grumpy. Lots of self serve checkouts and unless you want to wait in a massive line that’s your only option. Prices were decent but expired products in a lot of places including the grab and go meals near the front of the storennEdit….after going in to buy the boneless skinless chicken breasts for 3.44an incredible price 5 times in the course of 3 days as I was told they would be coming in, let me shock you…they never came. But I would bet you any money they will magically have arrived tomorrow when they are not on sale anymore. This should be completely illegal to do. False advertising at its finest. It’s not a great deal if you don’t have any
