Super 8 Wausau

It's a Super 8 in Wausau. Google keeps asking me to review this place so here it goes again: it's a Super 8 in Wausau. It's exactly what you'd expect. It's clean enough. It's cheap enough. Staff seemed fine, no complaints. The room doors slam really loud, so if you're a light sleeper, keep that in mind as you'll hear them all night long, especially on the weekend. Beds are really hard.

I would have waited until I checked out to write my review, but since the desk clerk decided to wake me up at 1:45 AM (I had been asleep since 11 PM), by repeatedly knocking at my door. Once I got up and got dressed to see what was going on, I opened the door and she snapped, "you've been smoking in your room", "uhhh, no I haven't", I responded. She went on to tell me that I would not be getting my deposit back since I smoked in the room, when I hadn't. I am a Diamond Wyndham member and stay in hotels 150-200 nights a year and have NEVER had an issue like this, not only for a person saying I was smoking in a non-smoking room, but also for any complaints by management during my stays. Well, now it is 2:30 AM and I am writing a review since I can't get back to sleep after being awakened for NO REASON. This will be passed on to Wyndham. Thanks for nothing Super 8, I have to get up at 7 AM and then work 10 hours before I face my 8 hour drive home and now I get to do it with no sleep.... *** In response to the owner's comments, who apparently is a pathological liar, A) it was 25°, there is no way in hell I had the "window wide open" B) I watched TV for 10 minutes, but the remote wouldn't change channels so I turned it off and watched Google Chrome on my laptop while laying in bed. C) I never "promised not to do it again", because I didn't do it in the first place. D) I had spent several hours at a casino the night before and my clothes may have had the smell of smoke on them and that same shirt was sitting in front of the AC unit, which may have caused the smell of smoke to be present. E) Be warned, this hotel needs to make extra money for some reason, if you leave a cash deposit, you may lose it for no reason.

Very clean, room was nice with updated appliances and decoration. Pool was open 24/7 which was nice! Continental breakfast was decent. Prices are 3rd cheapest in town. Which they were lower though.

Clean room. As a solo female, I felt safe staying here alone overnight . The location and overall atmosphere was positive. It was getting late when I arrived to check in but staff greeted me right away. I would stay here again.

Liked that the pool was open 24/7 and awesome breakfast. My kids loved making their own waffles and it was super easy
