Motel 6

Generally I don't expect much from a Motel 6. These motels are "known" for being less than desirable, dirty, old and having bad staff. The Wausau place was a pleasant exception. The gentleman at the front desk went above and beyond to help in any he could for our short stay. The building was "newly remodeled" and I believe they meant painted and new bed dressings we're purchased. And in the vein of Motel 6 expectations all but the service lived up to it's substandard expectations. But this man at the front desk made what I expected to be a completely unpleasant experience, actually tolerable.

The front desk employee was awesome when I checked in mid afternoon. At night, just like reviews I've read on Google, but thought I'd try and stay there....loud music, loud customers in hall, doors slamming most of the night. Midnight to 3am. Tub did not drain. Had to stand in ankle high water to take a shower. Obvious that staff doesn't make rounds at night. I got no sleep. I'll pay the 79 per night and go back to original motel.

We spent last night at Motel 6 and were very pleased. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and made us feel very welcome even our little Chihuahua was accepted no exta charge or deposit. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Price was great. We will be back next time we are in the area!

I recently stayed at this Motel 6 while undergoing a two day medical test. I'd stayed at this property before when it was under a different franchise so I familiar with the layout. The front desk clerk was very friendly and courteous ands she made me feel like a valued guest. The room was nice sized and the king size bed was comfortable. There are still some maintenance issues that need to be addressed such as the toilet seat being loose and a couple of loose screws in wall switch plates, which I took the liberty of tightening and the bathtub plug being disconnected and stripped out. But the cleaning was, if not "perfect" certainly satisfactory. Some bathroom mildew above the tub surround (easily missed unless you're tall as I am) and a couple of other minor things that a good going over will solve. Clearly, the management and staff are trying here and it is noticed. There were some noisy customers loudly closing doors during the night but that's not on the staff, some people are just inconsiderate that way. The parking lot was nicely lit at night and clean of debris. The entry way, lobby and hallways were all clean and orderly and had a neutral smell. It's located literally five minutes from where my appointments were, so that was a huge plus for me! I like the woodgrain floors and the decor over all was pleasing to me. Keep up the progress you're making!

It was ok, but nothing extra. It would have seemed more inviting if it had carpet. Also on the website it advertised the price at 38.00, but once I got into the site to make my reservation, it went up to 44.00, which was still a pretty good deal, but I found it a bit deceiving how it went up. There was no breakfast at all, which would have been nice to have even something small. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, which I appreciated. We had trouble with the shower head, it sprayed all over...I kind of figured out how to adjust it and make it a little better after a lot of tinkering, but my daughters had a hard time with it and I don't think it was quite functioning properly. It would be better to have one that just sprays normally and is simple to operate.
