Super 8 Racine

This place has seen better days, and until there's a change in ownership I wouldn't expect it to improve much. The property is managed by a husband/wife team that do everything, and it's clear that all preventative maintenance and refreshing has been shelved to save money. In fact, everything here is done on the cheap, from the cable boxes just hung off the back of the TV, to the breakfast which has almost every item you'd get at other free breakfasts, but the products are each the cheapest and lowest quality options...which leads to their breakfast not being worth the price you pay. I had in-laws stay here 5-6 years ago and always remembered it as a nice, clean, simple property (as all Super 8's are), but it's clear the years of neglect have taken their toll. We were looking for a 4 night stay as we waiting on our new house to be ready for move-in, and when they attempted to charge us an extra $15/night for weekend pricing we found MUCH nicer accommodations 5 min. away for considerably less. With a bad mix of a threadbare property that's not cheaper than other options, I can't think of much of a reason to stay here.

While this is not a super fancy hotel, it was clean, comfortable, and convenient, and well priced. What you would expect from a Super 8. Staff was super nice, breakfast was good (fresh waffles!), the beds were reasonably comfortable, and the water was hot with good air pressure. There was a slight "older hotel" air about it, but nothing overpowering. One evening we inadvertently left out door slightly open (It did have trouble closing all the way), and nothing was disturbed or missing. Overall, a good place to stay, and I would definitely stay here again.

Staff were pretty good. Room was cramped and a lot of stuff was half broken or falling apart. Moderately clean, not terrible but not confidence inspiring. For a room under three figures, it's near par, but not great. Better than sleeping in your car.

I'm originally from Racine but now live in Texas. Every time I come to visit I use this hotel. I definitely would do a little update on the Plumbing system otherwise good customer service rooms are always clean and reasonable priced.

Honestly I visited a friend who was staying there n I didn't stay very long. But the room looked very nice and clean and I admired the beautiful artwork on the wall.
