Super friendly staff.nnI stayed her on a cross-country trip. The majority of my other stops were at super 8's and other Wyndham properties along the way.nnThis location was by far the best of them all. The staff were super-friendly. They even called me to check-in when I didn't arrive on time - I screwed up the reservation date.nnThe motel seemed secure the side doors required access cards, everything was super clean, and everything was in working order.nnI highly recommend this location and will stay there again on my next trip through town.nnThanks you!
I have stayed at other Super 8 locations before, so my expectations were modest, but this one exceeded them. I arrived later than usual, and the welcoming staff was very accommodating, upgrading my room from twin queens to a king and ensuring it was close to the parking lot for my disabled partner.nnWe traveled from Hamilton to Thunder Bay with our dog and cat. The pet fee was reasonable, and I noticed many other pet owners staying here, indicating the motel's welcoming attitude towards pets. Our pets are clean, and we left the room in great condition.nnThe breakfast offered the usual Super 8 options: waffles, French toast, cereals, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and boiled eggs. The bread choices were packaged and very fresh, the fruit was perfectly ripe, and staff constantly restocked everything throughout the morning.nnI have only two minor criticisms, neither of which are enough to take away a star: the juice, particularly the orange juice, was a bit watered down, and the office chair in our room had some wear and tear from a previous guest’s cat, which didn't bother us much.nnOverall, this was one of the best motel experiences I’ve ever had, and certainly the best in Thunder Bay. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you're traveling with pets. I am seriously considering staying here next week on my return trip, rather than driving right through back to Hamilton as I was originally planning to do.
I was traveling with my small dog. Super 8 was very pet friendly with first floor room close to an exit. It was a quiet night, no loud hallway noise. Room was clean. Foam pillows were great I'm allergic to feathers. Breakfast was okay: I had a bagel, yogurt, juice, and fruit. I was looking for scrambled eggs. Still satisfactory. Safe area to walk my dog.
Finally a reasonable priced hotel thats NOT a dump, was greeted with friendly and competent service unlike so many hotels I've been in. This place has your standard breakfast, but the attendant does a fantastic job of ensuring everything is stocked and clean for guests to enjoy. I don't know her name but the wavey blonde is on point. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Only complaint was the dancy party and furniture moving that was happening above me all night long. Some people just loose all self restraint when they are out of super vision or away from their own homes. Plenty of parking for cars and motorcycles. Was a busy place this weekend. If you have a trailer spaces are limited, arrive early if you want to be in the back lot or risk having to park on the road. Walking distance to enough places and finally a hotel where my key card never screwed up. Keep up the great work !
The hotel was better than I expected. The rooms were a perfect size for two of us and our dog’s kennel.nThere were limited numbers of outlets available for charging purposes. Our devices were spread out throughout the room, and lamps were unplugged to make room.nThe check in staff seemed as though she had been having a very busy day, and the process seemed very rushed, despite there being no one else checking in while we were. However, in general pleasant staff interactions during our stay.nThe location was excellent for what we had planned during our stay.nThe rate was very reasonable, even with the pet charge on it.nThe neighbourhood that the hotel was in allowed for us to take the dog for a nice walk away from busy traffic. There was a convenient grassy area at the end of the hotel property for dogs.nIf we are back in Sault Ste. Marie we would definitely stay again.
