Beautiful place to camp. It can be crowded and hot. Best time is after Labor Day, during the week. Great place for rock hounds: geodes can be found here.

It's an awesome, secluded primitive spot. When it was in the high 90's in Boise it was only in the 70's in the canyon. Bring your own water and lots of trash bags. There is one pit toilet. During fire season NO OPEN FIRES ALLOWED NO BBQ, No campfires. Nothing. We had to get a camping stove. No problem. Just be aware. If you are driving and you aren't sure if you are there, keep driving. There is a toilet and several fire pits and every site has at least one picnic table. Before the campground there are little places people have set up. You will know when you get there. It's about 30 mins off the highway. On the dirt road. It's fun to go crawdading in the creek and we caught a small trout. There are tons of birds everywhere, and the local free range cattle seemed to be a daily visitor. We didn't have problems with mosquitoes but at night the little flying bugs are almost intolerable. We bought a mosquito net just to get away from the rest of the bugs that came after dark. My boyfriend and I loved it. It will be a place we return to.

Very beautiful place. Looks like the campsites were much nicer at some point. Cool little caves, awesome creek, pretty views.

Great dispersed camping and spectacular cliff veiws. Bring lots of water and a spare tire. The drive is accessible to all vehicles when conditions are good.

It's remote...so this is only a 5 star if you understand you are heading to the boonies in the desert. Plenty of hiking and exploring to do out here.
