We did not camp here, but we were here for the day of the total solar eclipse. The park workers did a very good job handling everything, from what I can tell. We arrived about 5 AM PDT and they had people directing us to parking spots. There was basically no wait when I got there. There was no day use fee for eclipse day, which made me feel bad; would have definitely been worth paying. Plentiful grassy areas with lots of trees. Nice views of the river. Decent river access (though I think swimming in the river couldn't be done at this time because of algae; that would have been disappointing if we were here camping, so I'd call about that before coming maybe). Easy to get to from I-84 and not very far from Boise. I'd definitely come back here for camping or day use.

We stayed for 9 days in Sep 2017. The only flaw was no sewer hookup. Ranger Aaron Raines was extremely helpful and personable. Host Rick was also very helpful. We will for sure be back.

It would be a beautiful place if there weren't so many mosquitoes. We camp a LOT, and have never been attacked like this. We didn't dare sit down and eat. We just packed up and drive to the nearest rest stop before we ate breakfast. They should do something other than offer deet-filled spray. The bathrooms would have been nice (they flush) but someone had been smoking in there. It was intolerable. We will never camp here again.

a very pretty and well maintained campground. camp fee includes showers and there is even a family shower/bathroom for those with little kids. my visit included high winds at night but no wind during the day. RV hookups also available.
