We were the only people there at dinner time, and more than half the tables were dirty. You have to order at a computer kiosk and they print a receipt, which is why we were surprised when two out of our five meals were incorrect no bacon when we paid the extra $2, cheese on all burgers when one was ordered without, no milkshake when we upgraded from the regular drink, forgot the extra fry dips we bought too. The food itself wasn’t bad, but the drink area was super sticky and overall the restaurant lacked cleanliness- again we were the only customers and the drive thru was completely empty as well. There are a bunch of places to eat on this street so we wouldn’t come back.
We were on vacation at Great Wolf. The Milan Road, Sandusky Steak N Shake was absolutely filthy see Photos the food was cold… couldn’t even eat the fries… tasted old and cold. Condiment station was empty… had to flag people down for salt and a spoon for applesauce. Staff was very unhelpful with order error and attitudes were terrible. Seemed no one cared. I hope I don’t get sick from eating here. I will never step foot in a Steak N Shake again. Please note these pictures were taken at noon…a mere 2 hours after they opened.
What a disappointment. The prices are the same but there are no more servers, the food portions are smaller, the restaurant is all self service cafeteria style, and dirty. None of the tables were cleaned off, the trash bins were dirty. The walls had dried food on them. Unfortunately, there isn't a reason for us to be back.
Well, I never went to Steak and Shake because of the quality of food. That being said, it is now tasteless. You have to use a kiosk, there are no wait staff, you clean your own table, and get your own food. This has literally turned into a self serve restaurant. I looked for the employee discount button on the kiosk and was not able to find one. That would be a nice addition since I did everything except warm up my meal.
We were really excited to see an open Steak and shake since most of them have closed down.We wanted to dine in but after getting over to the tables quickly changed our minds..I personally attempted to clean the tables with clorox wipes that I carry with me and they did no justice on top of ants crawling around the window sill and on the booth. The place really needs to be cleaned up.floors were dirty as well. It needs a deep clean for the whole restaurant. The only plus was ordering at the kiosk and food was piping hot.
Yikes. Haven't been here in years and just stopped in for a quick bite. Impersonal, dirty, and disgusting. The whole charm of Steak n Shake is supposed to be an old school diner vibe. This felt more like eating a vending machine burger in a gas station bathroom. Dried smudges of condiments on the tables and glass. The floor was sticky and stained. I wish I would have read the other reviews here before stopping. They're all accurate.
We use to LOVE this steak and shake .. We went Friday April 7 2023.and was really disappointed. Corporate got rid of waitresses .You order by Kiosk now which starts ruining your experience from the beginning. ALL the tables were dirty..COVID and other ..DISEASES BREEDING GROUND ..restaurant has went from cleaning EVERY table with disinfectant to not cleaning ANYTHING at all ‍‍.It was not busy at all.We asked and got our table cleaned .The soda area and pickup counter were disgusting too The food was OK ..definitely not what it use to be .When Cedar Point opens this place is going to be a madhouse...pig style. Self serve cant replace good service.. .cleanliness .then they ask if you want to leave a TIP FOR WHAT ???COVIDS breeding ground . I doubt we'll go back . Management needs to do better or be fired !!
We made the mistake of ordering from this Steak ‘n Shake during our trip to the Great Wolf Lodge next door. It was a horrendous experience. Placed order on their own website at 6:03 and it said would be ready at 6:15. When my husband got there, the dining room was closed so he had to wait in a long drive thru line. He waited 6 minutes at the window before anyone even came to the window. At this point it is 6:32 and they told him the order hadn’t been started yet. So my husband waited in the parking lot until he finally received his order at 6:56. He brought it back and they didn’t give us one of the kids meals we ordered. So we had nothing to feed my 3 year old… Husband called to explain they were missing a meal and the rude store worker told him to “call the app and get a refund” instead of offering to make the food or apologizing. The food was horrible and freezing cold, like it was sitting there for a while. The workers didn’t care at all. This place should get shut down. I regret placing an order after reading all of these other negative reviews.
We were on vacation at Great Wolf and figured this would be a great place for a quick dinner. It was absolutely filthy, the food wasn't the best, the manager was offering anyone a job who walked in because they were so short staffed. I just hope we don't get sick from the food. Was not worth $80.00 when there was plenty more to eat around. This location needs better management and a good clean up! The floors, the walls, the tables, the chairs were absolutely filthy! There was only another family in there at the time we had went in. Would never recommend this place to eat. Sad I remember it being such a fun environment years ago!
So, I rated this not having actually having a meal here but having milkshakes only. The food looked good but unfortunately, there seemed to only be 3 people working in the whole store. Drive thru was neglected because no people to man it. Wait to order was 15-20mins. I felt bad for the staff, who were stressed beyond but one young lady trying to be a voice of reason and motivation. Obviously with 3 busting their butts, cleaning couldn't get done. On the positive, our shakes were good and most people were understanding.
