I really enjoyed Fuzzy taco’s food and atmosphere. I got the brisket taco and it was ...
Beautiful cafe with amazing food and friendly service. My husband had the pulled pork burger, which he said was the best pulled pork burger he's ever had. He's very picky with food so that was definitely high praise. My dad had the eggs bene and I shared the fried chicken waffle with my mum. Everything we had was well seasoned and well cooked. The fries that came with my husband's burger were amazing and easily one of the best fries we ever had - well seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It was a hot day so we all had iced coffees which were really good too. All in all, we had a fantastic brunch and would visit again if in the area.
With all of the “well-known” Cambridge eateries nestled in town, we thought we’d take a punt and venture out to St Kilda for this low-key heavy-hitter of an eatery. The fit out is beautiful as you enter in, with high ceilings and good flow. We started off with a couple smoothies, which didn’t disappoint and ordered 3 dishes between the two of us. The fish and chips were outstanding - clean, crunchy batter with light, perfectly cooked fish in the middle. I would’ve like a bit more sea salt on top but that’s just personal preference and a few more chips - too light on the chips guys!. The optional side salad actually enhanced the dish nicely, instead of just being added on the side for “greenery”. The American waffles with fried chicken were also a stand-out dish, perfectly balanced with sweet, savoury, creamy, sour elements - as well as probably the best bacon I’ve ever had which was a surprise! Everyone does a fried chicken waffle now but this was definitely one of the best I’ve had. The separate dish of fried chicken was just a little bit of luxury on our part, but stood out as it’s own dish instead of just being “more of the same chicken that’s already on the waffles”. They were crispy, juicy, tangy and just about all you’d want in fried chicken. They did Korean fried chicken proud and kewpie Mayo on the side is always a treat. Overall, presentation was top notch, food was delicious and a cut above your typical eatery - done with finesse and technically executed very well. My only regret is that we didn’t have enough time to come back for dinner - which we’re eagerly looking forward to for our next trip back to Cambridge! Thanks for having us St Kilda Cafe & Bistro! Just like Arnold - we will be back.
Probably the best pulled pork burger I've had in NZ. Chips well seasoned and paired great with the saucy slow cooked pulled pork of the burger. Drinks a bit slow to come out, but you're in small town NZ so just sit back and relax. Worth stopping by for brunch.
Stopped in after a soccer game recently with my daughter. I have been hoping to get out to here to try it. The menu looked great and everything we ordered we enjoyed. I got a rose mocktail which was delicious. The coffee I also ordered was good. My fussy daughter enjoyed everything that she ordered, and was very jealous about the mocktail. Would definitely come back. The staff were all so friendly, plus there’s an excellent playground right next to it.
So good that we went back two days after the first visit. Burger was delicious and didn't drip everywhere. The avocado and asparagus salad was rich with flavours. UPDATE Wow, haven't been back in a while. Menu is not great. Staff are slow at seeing to customers needs and the food was not nice. Won't be back.
Prompt professional services. Meals are presented well and taste as good as they look good work team
Lovely staff, delicious food with variety. Burger was HUGE
I was excited to share this place with a friend as I'd been once before not long after the opened and it was lovely. Sadly the tables felt sticky. In fact the whole place felt like it needed a clean from top to bottom. One staff member wore an apron that was filthy. Maybe it is stained and was actually clean but not a good look. And she looked and acted like she'd rather be anywhere else but there. I ordered a flat white but got a cappuccino. Don't really enjoy just drinking froth. But with an unhappy looking waitress I really didn't want to send it back. I know people have bad days and this was probably one of them. It was more how everything just didn't feel clean and enjoyable. The food was ok.
We've been to St Kilda several times, we won't hurry back. Today, our order was taken very quickly. We then waited over 40 minutes for 2 meals - as other tables who arrived after us received their meals and had finished eating before ours arrived. And to be honest, the corn fritters were soggy and chicken was tough. They were not busy, and staff spent a lot of time chatting at the bar. Though they were friendly. Seats and menus are dirty. On another occasion, it took a long time to be served, but once we ordered, our meals arrived fairly quickly. Another time, we were told that we couldn't order eggs, as they had none, and then we saw scrambled eggs being served. You know what, it shouldn't matter when, poor service shouldn't occur.
We popped in to the Cafe for a coffee and scone. I ordered a long back. When It arrived it was a lovely coffee but very cold. I asked the waitress if I could have a coffee that was a bit hotter. When I received my next coffee I was shocked that it was boiling hot and disgusting. It was as though she had made it as hot as possible. Obviously cant take criticism and to witness her laughing with the waitress about it really dissapointed me. I won't be back!
