I ordered two lovely counter height stools and, once I picked them up from the warehouse, proceeded to assemble them. I quickly ran into trouble once I had the legs on, for I could see no way to attach the round metal footrest. I called the store, explained my problem and was directed to take the stools back to the warehouse where the staff assembled my stools quickly, efficiently, and completely free of charge. I am not a fan of furniture requiring some assembly, but was pleasantly surprised by the polite, timely and helpful response to my predicament. Their customer service earns an A+ in my book.
We purchased a bench here a few weeks ago and were told it would arrive in 3-4 weeks. We received the call that it had arrived within the expected time on a Friday. We picked it up at the warehouse Saturday and started unpacking the parts that night. Sadly, at the very bottom of the box a corner piece of the bench had broken off during packing or shipping. Wood also looked odd as color at that spot was very dark. Also, several pieces of styrofoam where broken and there were scuffs on some pieces which hinted at issues during shipping. We packed it all up again as best we could and the very next day drove up to the store, brought the box inside the store, explained what had happened and requested a refund. Without any hesitation Melodie immediately started the refund process. No pushback, always professional and courteous with no complaints. So yeah...the piece was broken hence the docked star but they treated us very well and processed our refund immediately with no issues which is how it should be when this happens no offer to repair and no offer of a "store credit". Melodie did ask if we wanted to perhaps purchase another item and we politely refused and, again, no issues or pushback. The great service even in the context of a dissapointing purchase is greatly appreciated.
Our experience at St Jacobs furniture house was excellent. We came in with a lot of question marks regarding how we could make a sectional work in our 120 year old home. The staff were easy going and happy to work with us through many different styles and configurations of those styles until we got it right. The icing on the cake was when we received a phone call telling us we could have the sectional by the end of the week if it suited us, instead of the initial projection of a 1 month wait. We would definitely recommend St Jacobs furniture House.
A very disappointing experience and a very disappointed customer who received a 30% restocking fee, after cancelling his order because the delivery operations at St. Jacobs Furniture House decided to change the delivery day three days in a row. I purchased a dining room set on Nov 26 and inquired if the set could be delivered by Christmas, something I now realize I should have had put in writing. I was assured everything was in stock and that it should be here in 2-3 weeks. On Dec 16 I called about the order and was told it would be on the truck for delivery on Dec 21. I called again on Dec 19 and was told it would be on the truck on Dec 22. I called a third time on Dec 20 and this time; they referred me to call the warehouse and was told the date would now be Dec 23. At this point with a delivery window of three days, and growing, I had to take control, went to the store, and cancelled the order. While I was at the store, I was assured again it was on the truck. I was also asked who I talked to, which I found odd as no one had contacted me at all, it was me calling St. Jacobs Furnishings. Overall, a very disappointing experience for the customer, but St. Jacobs Furniture House got its 30% restocking fee.
I wanted to write a review and express my opinion of St. Jacobs Furniture House as it has been wonderful!! I purchased a sofa with chaise and an additional sofa for my living room and although I had a few concerns with the fabric I have to say that the customer service and warranty is incredible, thank you!!! I will definitely shop with you again.
Great support up until you give them the money. After sales support has been the worst experience. Partner bought a desk from them. The desk took months to get, once we got the desk return was smashed which took another couple months to get a new one. That desk return wouldn't attach to the main portion of the desk none of the holes would line up. Poor craftsmanship on the desk, one of the drawers doesn't open/close properly. Another drawer broke because the screws holding the latch tore out of the wood. We've been trying to return this desk for over 2 months now due to all the manufacturing defects and poor craftsmanship. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I have had a terrible experience with this store. I purchased a desk, was told a 2-3 week lead time for delivery, which was repeatedly pushed out. I wouldn't have been mad about this except I had to call myself to ask where my desk was. If I hadn't called no one would have told me. Once I finally received my desk after 6 months one part was smashed, got a replacement, and it still doesn't fit correctly. All communication has been terrible right from the start, I have to email, call and chase them for any information. Do not shop here.
Friendly staff, easy to get quotes on furniture, delivery and pricing a little cheaper for same or similar products from the big box chains.
We have purchased many pieces of furniture from here and out of all the places we have bought furniture from, the pieces from this store have been the best quality/lasted the longest. The staff is always incredibly friendly, and their prices are very reasonable considering the quality.
We ordered a sectional sofa last Saturday, after some detailed measuring and figuring out. We want to tell you about our excellent experience at your store on Benjamin Rd. Jessica greeted us on Thursday, and was very friendly, helpful and patient with our shopping for our “inspiration”. When we found the sectional we really liked she was extremely precise in preparing quotes and measurements to take home and check with our space. After a requote on Friday, based on our actual room dimensions, we placed our order on Saturday. Jessica was such a pleasure to deal with: friendly, smiling, efficient, thorough, and precise. She made our decision to buy at St Jacobs Furniture House such an easy one. Thank you so much For your excellence in customer service, and expert assistance. It’s a great place to shop.
