Song Hee Take Out

I don't understand why this place is rated four stars! The owner is friendly, and the service was fast! But I can't say anything good about our order! The egg rolls were tasteless and Not crispy! The chicken balls were too sweet and very dry. The fried rice was not cooked well! The prices are low, but not recommending the food!

I had a very poor experience here. I had ice cream from another shop and walked into this restaurant to ask if I could drop my empty ice cream cup into his garbage can. I was going to order food as well as I didn't want to be rude, but I decided not to after the owner pretended not to hear me and then acted flabbergasted that I asked to use his garbage can. He then proceeded to raise his voice at me and I decided to walk out and not make a fuss out of it. I can't speak to the quality of the food here, but the owner is a real piece of work.

I have have ordered there for 30 years and food was always good. But my last visit the food was horrible. My partner and I were very disappointed. The batter on the chicken balls was gooey, the guy ding, was basically just onions, the rice was awful. The only thing we ate was the ribs.

Food was edible, wasn't really good. Probably the worst Chinese I've had in St. John's.

A staple in YYT Chinese take-out.. the beef is a bit hit-or-miss.. but hands down THE BEST chickenballs in the city!! Homemade with the fluffiest batter; amazing! Portions are generous and the combo plates and daily specials are great value..
