First time visiting the place with my husband. We had great experience, man that is working there helped us with the food, gave great advices, was very nice and friendly. Food tasted great, desert we had as a present from the place which was very lovely and for this I would give an extra point. Definitely recommend and will come again. Thank you!

Fantastic food, wonderful family run restaurant. They always have some particularly great dishes....double cooked pork was really hot but fabulous. It's a great restaurant for either eat in or takeout with great service and exceptional food. We traditionally have take out on christmas eve and they never disappoint! Can't find enough words to really say how good they are !

We ordered this for our very first time for New Years Eve. The chicken balls were over cooked and more batter than chicken. The chicken fried rice had no taste. The spare ribs were tough and not much meat. The chow mein was the only good part of the meal. Normally when we order Chinese food there is enough for the next day, unfortunately what we didn’t eat went in the garbage. $52 I thought was expensive for 2 dinners for two. Bad planning on our part that we never ordered in advance at our regular spot as I was working and unsure when I was going to finish my shift.

It was probably the most unpleasant expensive meal I've ever eaten in St.John's. Everything tasted the same. The almond chicken was hard as a rock ... inedible

Good food, good prices. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. The dining experience is decent however the atmosphere could do with a rejuvenation. There's buffet tables no longer in use but covered and still easily visible. Washroom is out of the way, tiny and again needs to be modernized. Overall good experience.

Waited for 1.5 hours in the clutter filled entryway for our meal - which I ordered two weeks in advance in an attempt to avoid this problem. Guests were at my house waiting for food. I understand New Year’s Eve is a busy time, but clearly they took far too many orders and we’re continuing to take orders by phone throughout my 1.5 hour wait and not enough staff/resources/capacity in place. Absolute greed. Food was cold, just to top it all off. Staff offered no apologies to the sea of waiting people. I like to support local, but this small business will never receive my business again.

One of the best Chinese cuisine restaurants in St. Johns. Magic wok is for a fancy mood, and If you want to have real Chinese cuisine, go to China house.

I have eaten China House many times. Food is usually pretty good. I understand NYE is a busy night, however, normal business sense is that you don't take more orders than your capabilities allow you to fill. Over an hour with guests waiting at our house and still not served our takeaway order! >> update pre-order received 1 hour 18 minutes after scheduled pickup time.

Been eating here for over thirty years, great Canadian-style Chinese food. Good portions, the usual "numbers" combinations, good multi-person dinners. Not for those looking for authentic Chinese cooking, but a very good place for the usual Chinese-Canadian favorites. Recommended comfort food.
