Soldiers memorial hospital

Yes it was a very long wait, but it was so crazy busy in the ER. This is not the fault of the staff. All the nurses remained calm, and so friendly. I could tell it was a stressful day for them and I was well taken care of despite how busy it was. People need to understand this is Canada's health care and nurses and doctors are doing their best.

Amazing staff. So grateful to have this hospital in our community.nnUpdate 2024. The most amazing experience with the L&D and NICU teams for my wife and our son. The nurses, doctors, therapists and all other staff we met were so amazing. We love all of the nurses so much and appreciated them after a challenging labour, emergency c-section and a NICU baby. We felt so cared for. I have never experienced this in another hospital. We stayed for four days. In the unit, there’s a coffee machine, microwave, fridge, juice and snacks accessible and well stocked any time. The units are connected so it was very easy to go see our son. The food was also the best hospital food I’ve ever experienced. It was my wife’s first time admitted to a hospital and we couldn’t have asked for more.

absolutely incredible experience!!! I was triaged, registered, seen nurse, doctor and receives IV treatment and out the door in 4 hours!!!!! every single person that I came in contact with was so incredibly kind and friendly.my nurse Tegan was beyond fantastic and dr. armstrong was excellent!!!! they never rushed me. They took the time to listen to me, to hear me and they gave me exactly what I needed and I feel so much better. I live a half an hour away, but I will drive to this hospital in a heartbeat instead of going anywhere else.

I went in with a heart rate of between 130 and 171, as a 24 year old that is concerning. I sat for 3 hours, and ask how long it would take to get back and see the doctor, I was told another 2-5 hours?! Are you kidding me. My heart rate wouldn’t drop below 129 and I’m told I need to sit there and wait, while, there was barely anyone getting called in, not to mention people who came in after me were called in, which I understand prioritizing patients but MY HEART RATE RESTING WAS 130-147. Is that not a priority? There was a lady there also who had been there for 6 hours by the time I decided to leave, and be at home where I can be more comfortable. This is so disappointing and disgusting. They didn’t even have enough seats for everyone because of the fact they weren’t calling people back. Honestly so discouraging and not to mention just made my heart rate worse at that point. The nurse that did my ecg and the nurse that took my blood were both angels though.
