Too bad this place isn’t open 24 hours anymore. Items are quite pricy, but you do get what you pay for
Thus is a good Sobeys with lots of parking and inside a plaza with many other useful shops and service located here as well. There can be a long line with the pandemic happening but it moves pretty quickly almost all the time. Staff is friendly and helpful. They now offer a new service at the front door to use an almost entirely contactless experience. You just need to see an employee at the end to verify your cart. This looked interesting but haven't tried it yet. I do recommend this Sobeys
Great staff, great selection. Sometimes you find really good deals but you have to frequent there to find them or find them on some app that I don't know of. Fruits can be extremely expensive just like fresh vegetables salads are crazy expensive!
I used to really like their store layout in milk section that showed the entire range of milks including wide selection of plantbased milks and felt very inclusive. The newly remodeled store seems to have gone backwards in time, highlighting only "Dairy" as a section and only putting cow's milk upfront and pushing all milk alternatives to a small box on floor where it's hard to see or find what you are looking for. It's quite a statement to exclude the entire and ever expanding range of plant milks and promote dairy. Hope the store will catch up with the times and rethink their section names and display to be more inclusive.
260% Price Increase for exposed food? This Sobey's location recently had renovations. The renovations are an improvement in design for customer accessibility to products. The design is also aesthetically better with better visual placement of items based on need. This location offered hot ready made food like rice, potatoes, whole chickens, wings, etc. Since the renovations, this location has increased how much they charge for hot food from 6.99 to 16.00$. That is more than 2.5 times the cost. Not only have you increased the cost, you push the labour of serving the food on the customer with a self service kiosk. Not only have you charged more money for the same item, you are saving money on labour by transferring that work to the customer. If anything, the cost of food is cheaper for you because you are not paying staff to serve it. Lastly, the kiosk is at a higher risk of contamination of things like....COVID-19 because the food is exposed to the general public. The small sneeze guard only protects the food from people who are tall. Children, who are carriers of viruses and other bacteria, can easily sneeze on the open food in the self serve area. I understand you are a business and its important to make a profit but this is ridiculous. Anyone who takes a moment to see what you are doing knows the exploitative tactics you are using. If you don't want to be in the business of serving hot food then simply remove that entire process from your store. Don't increase your price and delegate labour to the customer for food at a higher risk of contamination. The new layout looks nice but your decision in regards to the hot food shows questionable businesses ethics and concern for the safety of your customers.
Excellent experiences here at this store. I’m a late night shopper and every time I need particular items the night staff does an amazing job! Very knowledgable, fast and they are replenishing. It’s a shame that it is no longer 24 hours at the moment, they were always HELPFUL no matter what hour of the night! Thank you.
The reno is great. Brighter inside. Stocked well Washrooms are disgusting. It shows its been cleaned regularly. This cannot bẹ true. Toilet has pee on it, sides not cleaned . Floor dirty. Sink looks like a gas station sink.
Beautiful Sobeys. Produce is always fresh and they have a nice selection of meats. I shop here mainly for specialty food items. Lots of parking. Main hinderance to shopping here more often is their prices. Everything is so expensive even when on sale.
The store in general is ok, it's kept clean, it doesn't smell and the light is good. What I don't like is the overall product arrangement, there's little logic on how the Iles present products and that makes you feel more as a wanderer and not a finder. I don't enjoy groceries shopping that much so a good floor planning that keeps me there the least is highly appreciated. I believe that the store would benefit a lot if they surveyed a sample of their customers, or even better install cameras to determine customers routes. This could be great specially on crowded days. Finally, prices are raising constantly, can't they think of something to make us save a loonie?
An employee from the meat deli does not know how to work with customers. When I asked about EVEN showed what I want to buy..But..she stood with a displeased face and replied that she did not hear me because I was wearing a mask....No words... I REPEATED that I want to buy, she repeated my request with an annoying face ... even if she did not hear me or she has hearing problems or problems in her personal life, this does not justify her unprofessional behavior. Prices are too high...
