Sobeys Fonthill

I want to thank the owner, Ron Kore, for his kindness and respect when l was unexpectedly unwell in his store this week. He sat with me until my husband arrived, all the while asking me questions to make sure l was alert and not in need of medical attention. Nice store but expensive. Even if you’re only buying a loaf of bread you’re paying for the fresh deli, the fresh seafood counter, the fresh meat counter, the fresh sushi counter, the fresh flowers etc etc etc. So great selection if that’s what you’re looking for. But you’re paying for it because you’re paying for everything whether you want to or not. If you think that only the people using the fresh food counters are paying for it, think again. Nice store but way too expensive.

This is grose and ill never feed my dogs this food from sobies aggen, this pet food looks excellent in every other store. You guys are going to poison a pet or a perosn. Ive attached photos these bags are apparently the same food, its clear to see the off coloure in the chiken!

Officially done with this store. I have never bought so many expired items from a grocery store in my life. I never return the item as I find it's too much work for me to go back on such a busy schedule so I eat the cost and call it a day. This has happened at least 30 times now though and today was the last straw.nnThere is a Sobeys closer to my house in Welland but I go to the Fonthill location as it has a few staple items I use on the regular for my meal prep that I can't get at the other Sobeys. So it's extra frustrating when I have mapped out my balanced meals for the week which require the items I purchased, only to find out the item is way expired. I am pretty flexible with expiry dates too depending on the item I will still use it. But more often than not it smells funky or doesn't look right so I can't, like today for instance...I bought these wraps the other day without checking the expiry I usually always do now when I purchase from this location and went to make my breakfast wrap this morning and the wraps felt dry which is strange for this brand, I have bought these many times before. So I checked the expiry....SEPTEMBER 2022!! Brutal. Will be returning the item tonight for a refund.nnAlso on a few other occasions my boyfriend and I have pointed out to the staff items that have are way past the expiry on the shelves. Staff are friendly and store is clean....but I will no longer be returning given how terrible they are with keeping expired items stocked on the shelf. If you do go here CHECK EVERY EXPIRY DATE of everything you need before purchasing.
