My partner and I found Snoco Strength a little over a month ago, and we feel like we've finally found a gym we can call home.
Walking in for the first time there were no pushy sales tactics and no invasive questions. We didn't have to sign some visitor sheet and give our personal information just to see the place. We were just welcomed by a friendly coach who was genuinely interested in hearing our personal goals, and excited to help us achieve them in the way that works best for us as individuals.
The gym is small, but it's personal. The space is used efficiently, designed with charm, and filled with high quality equipment. They operate with a no-crowd guarantee so there are no worries about having to wait around for equipment. Everything is kept clean and orderly too!
The head coach, Jon Chacon, is constantly at work observing and improving the gym. He pretty much built the place from scratch. Everything from the front desk to the weight racks to the speaker shelves to the textured walls is his own wood working skills and it's really a testament to his love for training and dedication to this gym.
What really sets this gym apart is that there's always a trainer on staff, and you're always welcome to ask them for help with virtually anything you need. This is included in the membership, so if you need a spotter, a form check, some advice on your plan, or just some encouragement you can always get that help.
Even if you have no idea where to start, they have a workout of the month available for beginners, intermediates and advanced members. So you never have to be without direction here.
Another reason I've fallen in love with this gym is it's atmosphere. It's a strength training focused gym, so there's no cardio equipment, no TVs, no saunas, no jacuzzis. I never related to that atmosphere or the goals/ideals those types of gyms push. Here the mood is positive, and welcoming, but down to earth and hard-working. The soundtrack is usually hard rock, and the goal is get stronger.
For the first time in my life, I actually look forward to going to the gym. Sometimes I even wish I was going more than 3 times a week! The price for membership here was higher than it was at the regular gyms closer to my house , but it was absolutely worth it. We are learning so much from the on staff coach, we're motivated and encouraged by having that extra guidance, and we feel like we're part of a great little family with the coach and our fellow members. For these reasons, this gym will keep me coming back.
