Smitty's Family Restaurant

The staff were friendly, but that was the only positive. A hair in my sister's food, mushy waffles, under cooked bacon. Definitely not what we were expecting based on the reviews. We had one bite of our meals and asked for our money back. I recommend breakfast at the hotel next door (delicious and a much better price!).

Without taste. If you want food that looks as plastic on the plate as it does on the menu then this is the place for you. The staff were pleasant and the surviving size was large. They never once asked how the food was and I suspect that is because they don't want to hear the answer.

Kids menu is pretty nice so I think this is a good family restaurant. Not sure why people advise to go to McDonalds because there isn't one in Jasper. The food is pretty much standard North American fare with nothing to super love or hate. I'm not crazy about the coffee here but I don't expect it to be like a specialty coffee shop. Smitties is right across from the VIA rail station so it's pretty handy if you're on a 45 minute stop on your way through. I haven't experienced long waits but, like most places in Jasper, in the busiest part of summer things can get pretty hopping & you'll have to wait.
