Always drove past, but today I finally got to go. We had the Connecticut Style and Original Lobster Rolls, and those were delicious and had a really good filling to bread ratio. Wasn't overly saucy, and the lobster was cooked to *perfection*. We also had the Jambalaya which was A LOT of food, very filling and the Fish and Chips which were HUGE, CRISPY, and the sauce with them sealed the deal. Oh, and the corn bread is good too. For drinks we had the Hummingbird Margarita and the Hurricane you kinda have to at a Southern style restaurant, that's where the cocktail came from. Both were good, the Hurricane was good and juicy, not too strong. The Hummingbird is definitely for people that have stronger taste buds. The establishment was WAY bigger than I thought it'd be, and it was really cool getting to see the seafood getting cooked in the middle of the restaurant as well. The inside was really cool and dark, like the set to a movie with a sick bar too. We sat on the patio, and it gave enough space between tables to feel comfortable. The tables were also not shaky or wanted to fall over, so that's a plus. TL;DR a really nice, casual, and comfortable place to get your seafood fix in, we are definitely coming back again!
Had a great dinner before the Twins game this week. Bar seating, quick service including food. Jambalaya was super flavorful and has a nice spicy kick. For the record, leftovers heated up great too! Crab roll was great, fries had a good seasoning. Server was friendly and timed her check-ins well. Will visit again!
We came here to have the lobster roll. Great service and outdoor vibe, nice ambience. The classic lobster roll was very delicious, they made the lobster salad filling full of tasty, whole lobster. For my taste, slightly too creamy/rich. However, the buttered & fried bread that the roll came in was delicious!! My wife's Connecticut style lobster roll was a bit of a disappointment as the bread roll was smaller and not as crispy as the classic. Also, while the lobster was in bigger chunks, it was more tough and I could tell that it wasn't as fresh as some other lobster rolls such as Mason's. Cajun fries were really addictive, so value for price was there! ~$30/person
I was recommended this place and I am so glad that I went before I left for home the next day. The service was amazing and the food, hands down, was the best I had eaten in Minneapolis! I got the salmon over wild rice and veggies with pomegranates and I got as an appetizer, the crab cakes and they were so delectable! There were many other things I wanted to try on the menu as well so hopefully I'll get to go back there one day!
They have plenty of seating outside. So if you don’t have a reservation, there’s a good chance the wait won’t be too long. We were promptly seated without a reservation. We got their crispy calamari to start. The calamari was fried great and it came with fried pickles too which helped balance out the heaviness of the calamari. We then got two orders of the crab benedict, a Cajun avocado toast and the Smack shack original. All the dishes tasted amazing but my favorite was the Cajun avocado toast. The shrimp was seasoned and cooked so well that I could easily have gotten another order of it. I’ll definitely visit again the next time I’m in Minneapolis!
I love it here! Came in for restaurant week ended up enjoying happy hour. We got there 10 minutes before happy hour and our server suggested we wait it out. So happy she did, we were able to try a number things. The shrimp and fry basket was not only a great value but it was delicious!! I came in to try out the poke lettuce wraps and boy oh boy did they make my taste buds dance!!! We also had the chips with lobster guacamole, crab cake slider and shrimp avocado toast. Everyone was amazing!! The bathroom is clean enough where you don't need to hold it!! Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Parking: Hard to find a spot but there is plenty of street parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Roomy enough to bring in a wheelchair.
Awesome restaurant to visit with my coworkers during our lunch break or dine in for date night! I love the lobster roll, lobster Mac & cheese, and the stuffed salmon with rice & asparagus. Great options to pick from and everything tastes delicious!Food: 5/5
First time here. Great lobster rolls and seafood. The clam chowda was great, creamy and loaded with clams. Both lobster rolls were great in their own rights. So much good food. Service is even better.
Had a great time here on my lunch break while working in town. Everyone seemed very friendly and knowledgable. I went with the chicken sandwich and lobster mac & cheese. I absolutely LOVED IT!! I am not a corn person so the corn in the mac & cheese threw me off, but I ate it all up! I also had a Tap Mule which was quite impressive and tasted delicious. The bar tender was also nice enough to throw in a margarita shot which was also delicious. I would definitely come back here!
I had the lobster bisque and lobster Cobb salad and the cucumber mint and revel without a pause! I only took pictures of the food. Everything I had was delicious and the services excellent! They're also doing a fundraising event for the aliveness project, so head on over and play!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: No
