Simmering Kettle

Okay I'm going to be honest. The only way I can describe the food is "gross" I was just grossed out. But let me start by saying that when I walked in, I immediately regretted ordering there because the cooks were touching everything with their bare hands and no offence but some of them should have been wearing hair nets on their head and their beards. I ordered butter chicken take out there because the reviews were so high. I was warned that it is run by different people since recently so maybe that's why it has such good reviews from before but like honestly the chicken was low quality and rubbery. It's not supposed to have that texture in a butter chicken dish. Also the ratio of sauce to rice was silly, it was basically soup. I threw my dinner out.. I couldn't even eat it. I'm posting this because I don't want anyone going in there with the same expectations as myself. If you haven't already figured it out, I won't be going there again.

I have good memories of the Simmering Kettle where I went for an early supper after a long drive to Barrie. It was open and spacious with lots of wood and glass and plants. My server was very friendly and helpful. The menu exhibited an Asian influence and I had a tasty pad Thai. I will return to this restaurant on my next trip to Barrie.

Only ever been for breakfast but the food comes our fast and fresh. The signature breakfast club is a favourite of mine. Order with fruit instead of potatoes.

This place is going downhill fast. I used to love the butter chicken here but now it's different. The serving size is so small for what they charge and the rice that once used to be nice and fluffy is dry and hard. The naan bread was soaked in sauce. Not impressed at all. 5 wee strips of chicken drowned in sauce for $16??? Won't be back there.

Hot selling items: freshly made and seasoned 8oz burger, grilled chicken club (w/bacon and cheddar), tandoori chicken wrap, Carribean fish (seasoned with a special masala mixture!) on a kaiser, Berry goat cheese salad, breakfast available until 8:30pm! amazing omlettes, eggs Benedict, specially seasoned crispy fried chicken & Belgian waffle, and by far, THE best pancakes in Barrie!!!
