Decent place to stay. Now owned by the city. A bit pricey. Close to all. Spaces are spacious. Dirt and gravel roads. Restrooms are older but functional. I will say lock your bicycles and other valuables inside. There's a theft epidemic going on all along the coast.
This was the most underwhelming experience at an RV Park. We pulled in and found the hookups easily, however our light did not light up like the others. The picnic table was clean and very spacious. The camp site backs up to the bay, not the ocean as I was expecting.nIt was extremely windy but we decided to brave the beach with the dogs anyway. What a mistake! There were 3 dead birds that we saw and a dead cow or deer decomposing on the beach as well. It was gross and we didn’t trust our dog’s paws getting clean enough. There was no access to throw away trash, no restrooms, rec room or laundry. This place is literally hook up’s in a parking lot. Nothing else. We will not be returning.nrestrooms, c and garbage
There is a very small footpath down to a narrow coastnThere is broken concrete and metal at the base of footpath.nIf you're visiting cresent city for the beach- this isn't the place to staynnThe park itself looks like it's seen better days. The camp host is very nicenTrash can was overflowing and now locked during our 3night staynnThere are sketchy people everywhere and they come into the park later in the afternoon. The park isn't manned after 5pmnnOne of our dogs has curly fur and picked up a ton of tiny stickers from walking down to the coastnnI have kids and don't feel comfortable with them biking around the campgrounds like they normally do at other campgroundsnnIt is cheap to stay here but it's not worth the lower cost
While travelling with friends we stayed at this campsite for two nights. It is well situated on the harbor and within town, close to many restaurants and brew pubs. The grounds were tidy and well kept; and the showers, washrooms, and laundry were very clean and well equipped. I would also like to add that the people at the campsite could not be more friendly and, after one particular incident, any more helpful.nOn the morning after our second night my wife and I woke to find the cable that secured our bikes, in the back of our truck, had been cut and the bikes were gone. When I went to the front desk to advise the clerk, I was told Crescent City was notorious for bike theft and it happens all the time but that he was very sorry. I asked if the police should be called? Will they attend? Definitely was the response so we called them.nThe police came and took all the pertaining information but they also said this was the third bike theft from this park this week! In fact a bike was stolen from a campsite 3-4 sites away from us the night before ours were taken! I feel that if we had been told this we could have put the bikes in the cab of the truck or in the camper for the night.nSadly nobody said a word.nI could have done a lot better in securing our bikes and have learned some valuable lessons in this experience. Better locks for one and two? Ask how often stuff goes missing in the park I’m visiting!
Honestly, this place is very nice. Bathrooms are clean, location is perfect to walk around and hit up a few places to eat and the staff is very friendly. We moved our RV site from another RV park due to flooding and no hook ups and this place made our weekend so much better .
