Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park

My friends and I came for a final hurrah before college started again, and I have to say this was a flawless vacation. Hiking trail were is a reasonable driving or walking distance, the park rangers were very friendly and changed our campsite upon request. The fact that this camp site is right by the ocean in Cresent city makes the trip worth it on its own. Beautiful beach with smooth sand and a lot of yummy seafood places to eat at. 10/10 would recommend.

Where the redwoods meet the ocean I love del Norte county , my family was very welcomed by this loving community. The camping was excellent with brisk fresh waters and creeks and beautiful forests with the tallest redwoods in the country. I will recommend this to families and ask ppl really.

We just came home from a wonderful vacation driving the Oregon coast. One of our stops was this campground. It's beautiful and so what we were looking for. We made reservations months ago and were so excited when we pulled in. Until the rangers came to our site. We made reservations on the wed site and were assigned a spot in the conformation email it was a handicap spot they assigned us. He said we were parked illegally and it would be another fee for our 2 night stay. We already prepaid for our stay. Would not move us and offered to call the police. We are a family on vacation with our 7 year old daughter. She could not understand why the ranger was so mean to us. He was rude and it was very upsetting to be treated in this matter. We did not ask for this spot and nor did we know it was a handicap spot. I hoping this gets to the right person. Because I would love to speak with the person in charge. It would not let me post until I gave one star but I would have gone 0! We left and went to another park and had a wonderful time! We are still out the money we spent on our 2 nights. But we were not going to be out anymore money! It felt like the rangers were trying to (roll) us for under the table money for there own pockets. Something someone should look into I would feel bad if this happens to some other family!

Worth it! If driving by you really need to stop at the beach overlook. Go left from the parking area to the point for the best views. There are a ton of huge rocks to climb down there too.
