The organizationBall hogz who operate out of this arena, is the definition of a stereotype, in regards to the people of Sherwood Park. Their board members were there when hockey was created…nThe SP BallHogz board members run their own teams, pick the players they want, and push the rest of the players aside. They have evaluation camps, but don’t actually make the teams even the reason for this, They are biased. They choose players who are friends with their kids, to represent their league in tournaments, take peoples money that think their kids are involved in an actual tryout.nThere’s no transparency with coaches, players or parents. When parents and coaches, who are volunteers, bring up safety concerns, they ignore them. When they are confronted, they duck and Run.nnJust last season2025 a player, was injured to the point where the parents threatened to sue the league. This year when a player went play against the boards, the opposing player on the other team, who is running around cheap shotting the team he was playing all game, turned around, and Tomahawk chopped the other kid in the arm, resulting in a fractured hand.nnIf you’re a volunteer coach, if dare you ask a question to the referees, they ignore you, blow you off, or threaten to kick you out of the game entirely. When you bring this up to the so-called head of officiating, they ignore you, and ghost your calls. If you call them with a blocked number, they pick up right away.nnAs an organization, they go out of their way to say “at least we’re not like the other Ball Hockey leagues ”… At least the humans who run the other leagues , know they suck.nnIf you’re thinking of joining ball hockey in the greater Edmonton area, don’t waste your time. There are a lot of sports in the greater Edmonton area, that actually run their leagues for the kids, not for their own MO.

Nice ice rink facility. It’s been here a long time and has produced NHL caliber players. Sherwood Park Crusaders play here. The building is dated but functional. It’s well lit and clean as are the washrooms.

Attended events leading up to Hockey Night in Canada's Hometown Hockey show. Fun family evening and a heck of a way to spend New Years Eve. Thanks for the hospitality Strathcona County.

Went to watch some AJHL hockey between the home town Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Lloyd Bobcats and was not disappointed as the Cru came away with a 6-3 win in their, so far, very successful 2023-24 season.

Nice heated arena. Plenty of parking. Concession stand. Wheelchair friendly.
