I was staying at a hotel behind Shari's without a vehicle all day so I chose to eat at Shari's for both brunch and dinner. They have typical diner fare. Although I must say that my breakfast was wonderful. My eggs were cooked exactly right and they have turkey sausage which is good since I don't eat pork. It was on a Wednesday, they do free pie Wednesdays so I took a piece of Lemon Meringue back to the room with me. It was excellent! For dinner I had the lighter fare Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was tender and moist. The potatoes were real potatoes with the peel left in, they were creamy and delicious, the broccoli was cooked perfectly. For my second piece of free pie I had the Banana cream dream. Again it was delicious. If you want or need a great meal at a decent price Shari's is the place to go! Dietary restrictions: I don't eat pork and they made the necessary adjustments to my meals
Incredibly cozy feel to the place. Big comfy booths. Food so simple and comforting, it hits you like Anton Ego taking that first mouthful of ratatouille. The pies are indeed worth bragging about. Service is good, but my only suggestion is that they could hire more waitstaff. The waitresses I've had were sweet and attentive, but it's a pretty big dining area for them to cover, so it can take a while for them to get to everyone. Shari's is good for a long, relaxing sit-down experience, not a scarf-it-and-scram.
This was our second visit to Shari's. Our first visit on Thanksgiving was excellent. We had great service with a friendly waiter and the food was good. This time around round out though and we will not be back. After being seated our drink order was promptly taken and brought to us. It took another 15+ minutes for someone to come by to take our order. We were okay with it as we understand being short staffed. However, things continue to deteriorate. The country fried Steak was way too peppery, the mashed potatoes were gross, and the green beans completely inedible. The photo shows what was left on the plate when we left. A complete waste of money on that meal and now we have to go find food to actually eat. Only one of our drinks was ever refilled even though they were both empty. We are currently sitting here waiting for our check and have been sitting here for again over 15 minutes. We won't be returning.
Best place for breakfast and pie. The restaurant is clean, the server Hillary is the best she is like a tornado of love, and makes you feel welcome. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty. Will recommend anytime
This morning we arrived at your Kirkland location at 9;50am. We waited 5 minutes to be seated. We asked for coffee, tea, and water. Hostess brought us coffee, tea, and one water. I asked for another water, it never came. The waitress took the order at 10;10. At 1030 the waitress came and stated she was going on break and another waitress would take over. I asked both of them if we would get our food soon? She stated, "I hope so". At 10:45 we still did not have our food. I asked for our ticket, and I told her we could not wait any longer. She went to the terminal and said she would meet us at the front desk. As we got up, she came back and said our food was ready and would we like it to go. Told her no, we have waited long enough. How long had it been ready? Seeing we ordered it 40 minutes. Was it even warm? This was terrible service from Hostess, Waitresses, Cook and Manager. Manager should have come to apologize. I was only charged for the coffee and tea. We walked out of your restaurant at 10:50. Oh and did I mention that of the three employees that we spoke to, no one give an apology Needless to say, we won't be back!
30 minutes to get a table even though most tables were empty. 45 more minutes to get food. Server had to be reminded multiple times about what we ordered. 30 minutes to het a check. This is what my omelette looked like. Place should be shutdown.
TL;DR: If coming here, expect to wait a while for food, needing to remind your wait staff about items, and double check your bill at the end. Came in after 1pm. It appeared that a 20+ party had taken over a section of the restaurant previously, based on the dining ware left. We got seated quickly enough, but then waited a good 8+ mins to have our food and drink order to be taken. We then waited a good 20+ minutes for our food to arrive, during which our drinks arrived, though our staff forgot the lemons for the iced tea they had asked if we wanted. When our food arrived, my dining partner's order came back changed without consent out of one soup and then just gave her a different soup, which she couldn't eat and I had to remind our staff twice for ketchup for my dish. My dining partner's half a BLT was cold, toast soft; she eventually got a replacement soup and the lemons, but had to ask for a spoon as we had no utensils. My order for a pie shake asked for it to be a to-go shake after waiting so long did not arrive until we had already received our bill. We went over the bill and had initially been charged for the extra cup of soup. It got corrected after we brought it up, but it made a long "quick" lunch longer.
I ordered a prime rib dip from Shari’s in totem lake 3/4 of it was fat I could not eat it 2 pieces of pie that was broke up. I went back to have this taken care of & all they said was I’m sorry that happened to you.
Best cherry pie alamode ever. And the nicest waitress. Reminded me of years ago when young people were polite and kind. So glad we stopped. I don't know why there are not more Shari's.Food: 5/5
Waited almost ten minutes to be seated. When we were seated, our drinks came promptly. However, we sat for ten minutes and we not waited on or acknowledged. If they had been busy, it would been understandable. Was looking forward to the meal. Will never return. I left $4.00 for the drink. This was the Shari’s on 116th in Kirkland, Wa.
