Shanghai Wonderful Restaurant

I visit this restaurant whenever I visit Vancouver. The food is good. Even the Cantonese dishes.The Sweet and Sour pork is up to good standard. Crispy outside and juicy inside. I am showing you two of my most favorite dishes there that you should try. The Chinese radish cake and the dessert, donut with red bean paste inside . They are so good. I am looking forward to visit Vancouver again in this summer.

Authentic sour and sweet fish should not be cooked with tomato sauce. Rice cake was good. A few items not available at the time.

XLBs were less juicy than expected but very meaty. Beef pancake was disappointing, with the pancake being cold, due to being premade. The sweet and sour soup, radish pastry were excellent and tasted like quality ingredients. Service was slow Sunday afternoon. Seems like they are understaffed.

Oh my goodness, every dish ordered surpassed each other at a level of deliciousness. Shanghai cuisine is exceptional here. You will not be disappointed.

Our family’s go to restaurant for years. Consistently good food. Finally made back here for dine-in service after a long pandemic. Service is fast and very friendly. Food is so much better when it comes straight from the kitchen to your table. Compared to takeout; where by the time you get it home … food is lukewarm. XLB have a lot of juice and very flavourful and is a must try. We ordered the 3 course Peking Duck. Menu says 2 course but you can order it with the soup for an extra $13. The Peking Duck came with 12 pastry wraps. All three courses were very good. Our favourite dish here is the Dry Ginger Beef. Deep fried strips of ginger beef coated with a sweet spicy sauce. Pork Chops with Pepper & Spicy Salt were crispy and not overly spicy. Perfect for someone like me that can’t handle spicy food.

One of favorite Shanghai cuisine restaurant in Vancouver. All dishes never disappoint us each time we come here. Kids loves Shanghai steam bun, meat stired with sticky rice , meanwhile beef and bean curve soup . Very suitable for family and friends gathering. Try here if you love to taste Shanghai cuisine .

Location is good if you are staying in the hotels nearby. There are not much restaurants around if you do not drive. There are a good variety to choose from and they are all nicely made. Portion is decent but not big for the price. If you want value for money, they are not as good as other Chinese restaurants around Central Richmond.

My first time since they moved from Cooney Road. Overall food quality has been degraded. Xiaolung Bao was ok, the smoked fish: should have used Pomfret rather than using the cheapy tasteless white fish. The back vinegar sweet n sour ribs- size of the ribs was cut too small thus making it dry, taste was ok. The taro duck was not done right - using the batter to deep fry was not authentic, and the taro was too mushy. Servers were attentive. 3 applies and 2 main dishes cost us $90+ . Not recommended, I will go back to Dynasty and Shanghai River for some more Shanghainese dishes

Famous for their Xiao Long Bao, this place also serves some of our fave dishes, namely Cherry Pork served on a bed of pea shoots, Ginger Beef sweet, crunchy and oh so flavourful to name a few. They used to be across Landsdowne but moved to this location across Costco some years ago. Never disappoints.

It has a thin skin and was loaded with soup. Everything was flavorful ℂ: food was a bit too salty even a canto say so closes at 8:30 pm kinda pricy
