I'll begin by saying that I've written very few Google reviews before of any businesses, but I felt compelled to write something in this case. I spoke with the store owner about a problem that I was having with my back door deadbolt lock on an apartment I own in Hyde Park. He asked me to send him photos of the lock and the door, which I did, and he called me right back. He explained that they would be happy to come out and fix it temporarily, but that the issue would in the long-term either require a new door or a contractor to come out and reinforce the door jamb and the door itself (which is quite old). He urged me to get a quote from a contractor for this before deciding, as he said in all likelihood we'd be right back to where we are now in a year or two. How often do you come across businesses with that kind of honesty & integrity? I told him I would regardless be using him for all future door & lock needs, and he said he was happy to provide me with advice regardless "because that's what we do!" Not only that, but then I proceeded (a bit cheekily) to ask him if he wouldn't mind giving me advice on another deadbolt issue I was having with a door to my primary residence which is out of state. He happily said, "Sure! Send me photos and I'll give you a call back!" Wow. Just wow. I cannot speak highly enough of this company, and urge anyone in the Chicago area who has a lock need to give these guys a call!
