I've been to Scruples in the past for facials which are fantastic. Recently visited to do a pedi and hair blow dry. Was hesitant because I was told by a couple of friends that the pedi/mani's were not great here. I had my first pedi there and unfortunately I think that will be the last time. I forgot the name of the girl who did mine, she was young with dark hair - lovely person. Very friendly. BUT, I found the experience mediocre. She was wearing plastic gloves that were so big on her hands that it appeared hard for her to grip the tools, and my feet. There was no proper cleaning of my toe nails. When the scrub was applied, she just patted it on my feet and asked me to rinse. No massaging it in. The massage was more like a light petting. Zero pressure. I asked her to clip the nails a bit (she wasn't going to) and when she did she just cut once across the top and didn't file the edges so it was sharp edges. I filed it down when I got home. She used a buffer to do under my feet, but again, no pressure and it felt like no dead skin was removed at all. Polish application was comparable to a friend applying it. It was an extremely amateur feel. Awful actually. But she was so lovely I didn't have the heart to say anything. 
Afterwards I had a hair blow out booked. They were a half hour behind so I spent a lot of time standing around waiting. But I will say the girl who did my hair was awesome. Forgot her name too. Great relaxing massage when she shampooed/conditioned my hair. Asked great questions so she could determine what products and techniques best to use. It was great no complaints. My hair looked great - even better the next day. I'll return to Scruples for facials, massages, hair - but definitely not for mani pedi's again. Not worth the price at all.

You know when you go to Scruples Salon and Spa that you are in for a treat! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere at Scruples is very relaxing, from the moment you walk in to the charming renovated farmhouse, you know that you will get that R&R that you truly need after a long week.  Each service provider that I have seen has been very professional, and seeks to make sure that you feel comfortable as well as pampered during your time there. I have visited Scruples on more than one occasion and I plan to continue to come here for my salon and spa needs for many more years to come. I would recommend this establishment to absolutely everyone!

My experience with this place was the worst you can expect and I didn't even get to try their services. I made an appointment on their website for a massage on January 31st but I never heard back from them to finally confirm when my appointment would be, so I called them the next day. I scheduled the appointment for today (Feb 7th) at 3.30 PM. After that, they called me on the 4th to reconfirm if I would be going... of course I said I would. Finally, I went in today just to find out that either they are very dumb or their system for appointments is just garbage. At first, one of their employees was showing me an email that somebody called Maria or Anne-Marie sent them saying that she wanted to cancel her appointment for today. Since my first name is Maria as well, they were kind of insisting it was me, until I showed them my ID and the email I got from them the day I tried to make the online appointment which was showing that I was intending to schedule a massage for today. They had me waiting like 20 minutes until the same girl came over to say that another employee had called my cell phone and had talked to somebody who said that she got her appointment rescheduled for the 24th. Again... they were wrong! Of course, the person they called was not me. Well, looks like she didn't believe me so she went downstairs again and called my cell phone only to see if I picked it up! She came back for the third time just to tell me that the computer was showing that me, Maria Ciotta with my phone number, requested to have the appointment rescheduled for the 24th. At this point of course I started raising my voice... Not only I was mad because of the time they made me waste while driving over there in the awful freezing rain, but also apparently they were accusing me of lying. When I said so she said "oh, well maybe somebody else has your information and did it for you"... yes, that's how good they are at treating their customers at that overpriced place. I'm pretty sure they are gonna go through the same thing again on the 24th when somebody that's not me shows up saying she had an appointment. To sum it up, I had to come back home without getting the massage. But hey! They really wanted to make it up... they were offering me 10% discount on other services... I truly felt like everything was a joke for some cheap TV show. I will never go back to that place.
