Worst experience ever. Wanted to phone the bank to let them know I wanted to withdraw a large amount of cash out of my account. They do not normally have a lot of cash on hand so I was being proactive to give them the heads up. Impossible to get anyone at a branch. They have a call center in the Dominican Republic who takes your calls. The lady on the phone had know idea how to find a branch number and ended up giving me a fax number. Sooo unprofessional down right pathetic service. Asking me if I was in Canada…lol. Didn’t know where Kelowna was. I could go on. Time to find a different bank that caters to my needs.

I had appointment with Krystal Watson at this branch. First that I noticed, the services at this branch were definitely improved. No long line to tellers as previously, and a person available in the customer services upfront with a greeting Scotia customers and coordination. The appointment was scheduled with Krystal and it was such pleasure to speak with her and learn the products and services of Scotia. She provided so clear explanation about the programs, and her advise was very helpful for me. The attention to details was very accurate. Thank you, Krystal W.
WORSE BANK EVER and the manger as well.. Went to bank to get a bank draft out and they froze my account and ask me how did you get this money from..even when it was scotia to scotia transfer. I did answer all the security questions amd even gave my signatures. Wasted 15 minutes and answer I got was we cant transfer. Felt like Racial profiling to me and manager after all the conversation rolled his eyes and walked away. Worse experience and never gonna be there customer ever.
Would be nice if they listed the atm hours as the doors get locked sometime at night and reopen sometime next day..who knows when? I dont know!
Horrible experience! We came in for an appointment on a Saturday. Was supposed to hear back the following Tuesday. Continuously chased the financial advisor around for 2 days until I finally gave up and called his boss. His boss had him phone me within 30 mins. When I answered the phone, he immediately hung up. When I phoned back right away, he didn't answer. 2 minutes later, I got an email that he tried calling and didn't get an answer so he would phone back first thing the next day. Didn't hear from him until 11am. I expressed my frustration with his communication only to be told "okay." We will be immediately switching our car loan to Interior Savings
Really nice customer service. All the ladies were super friendly and helpful. I believe it was Heidi who also followed up through email. Two girls assisted me however I couldn't get the other ones name. I believe we shouldn't make conclusions based on one persons experience. I had a great visit. Thanks again, ladies!
I would never recommend this bank to anyone, and I truly hope that no one has the same experience as we have. They have lied to our faces numerous times, and misadvised us. We were pre-approved for a construction mortgage by a financial advisor at this bank and given a budget, detailed construction draw schedule and the go ahead to purchase the lot. When it came down to completing on the lot the drawings weren't available yet. So as an alternative the banker advised us to get a line of credit to pay for the lot and that he would simply turn that into a construction mortgage down the line. After purchasing the lot and starting to build our dream home which took our entire life savings the advisor at the bank said that they had a policy change and we would now be working with someone else who called me and told me that she doesn't know what we were thinking and we don't have a mortgage nor do we qualify. Apparently Scotiabank changed a policy during the time it took from issuing us the line of credit to us requiring our first draw. They were not willing to honour the original plan we had with the previous advisor and told us they could not help. Not only that but they continue to lie about the situation and say that we were never approved in the first place. In November my husband and I sat in the branch managers office while the advisor Derek told us we were originally “approved with flying colours” and that he was “shocked” to hear that we were having issues now. Brayden Cook the branch manager now denies any of that, and has done nothing but lie about what happened. I am genuinely shocked by our treatment, why would someone tell us we are approved and say yes you can afford to build sink all of your life savings into this project, then tell us just kidding we can't give you the mortgage. WE WOULD NEVER HAVE DECIDED TO BUILD OR PURCHASE A LOT IF WE WERE NOT APPROVED FOR A MORTGAGE. It makes no sense at all. Yet again misadvised other than having emails saying we are fully approved, numerous conversations with the advisor telling us everything looks great and we are fully approved to build. What bank wouldn't honour something initiated prior to a policy change. it's terrible that they even let us get into this situation. Thank goodness that another bank was able to step up to the plate and prevent us from going bankrupt and losing everything from this situation of starting to build and not getting any more funds. Interior Savings is where you should go if you find yourself in this situation and NOT SCOTIABANK!!! they will mislead you and then continue to lie about it. When we went to the complaints department she resolved the claim by saying " We never approved you and you just wanted a line of credit" who on earth would get a line of credit just to have land... obviously the intent was to build! which Scotiabank was well aware of. So I repeat DO NOT GO TO THIS BANK IF YOU NEED A CONSTRUCTION MORTGAGE or even advise on a mortgage because clearly they mislead us from the start.
Treated like a common criminal. We have millions of dollars at scotiabank and when we go in to deposit for our business we are treated like criminals laundering money even though we are with their private banking group. We are looking to switch away from scotiabank. Terrible customer service.
Shoutout to Princeton Skavas—he was my man! I had an appointment for a student credit card application. I assumed he was new as he wasn't really knowledgable enough regarding student credit cards. That being said, however, he was super patient in answering my questions and cared enough to help me enroll in a higher interest rate program for my Momentum PLUS. And do note that this was past their closing time—past 5pm! Other staffs were super helpful too! I had an issue of adding my card to mobile wallet and the manager stayed in late to help me! You da reel deel, Mr. Skavas! Had a pleasant talk with you!
