We stayed for a week in the new camping ‘pod’ cabin. It was very small but had everything you could need for a nice stay - comfortable bed, clean and new bathroom and shower, mini fridge/freezer and large microwave. Everything was new and clean. Very nice! Only small downside was we were not informed that there was no direct sewer hookup and pumping was needed to be arranged. Took a couple of times of asking to get it pumped, and the tank was WAY full - guessing it may have not been pumped out from the prior guests’ stay by how full it was two days into our trip. Staff very friendly and helpful. All of our neighbors also friendly and respectful. Will definitely be back!!
Fall camping. Nice family friendly campgrounds. Halloween weekend has lot of activities. Is the playground outdated yes....but they are working on getting a new one. Was mini golf 2$ a person yes but honestly it was a big course and worth it.i have paid more for less! This place needs a little love. But we loved our site and we will be coming back next fall. And bringing our kayaks to explore the lake/pond My husband said we wish we could buy this place!!! Note: water has been shut off because it's October. So I can't give a review on that.
Inside look at a cabin with no porch at Saratoga Escape. We liked the campground but were disappointed that the convenience of a shower was not upheld. The campground left a note stating that due to tank water we could not use our shower. When we looked outside our tank was broken and there were a ton of flies around the campsite. Although we still had a pleasant experience we would have liked to of been upgraded or reimbursed for not having what we were promised in the booking.
We stayed at sister resort schroon river camping resort . Place was terrible staff unfriendly, cabin renter only slept 4 we had 8 people had to get a tent and sleep people in our camper site . Cabin was not clean and over ridden by mice including in the oven . We notified the owner first night no response , we tried to find another place but nowhere close that could accommodate us all. The picture on web showed a nice place it was old and outdated we left a day early we would like a refund for the rv site and the cabin for the night we did not stay 300.00 total feel this is more then fair for our trouble . Can’t believe you people never responded and tried to make it right . The Mccabe’s august 31-26 disgraceful to run a business like this
The customer service is terrible. I booked 2 sites and after reading reviews we decided to cancel the stay. I was wondering why there were so many open campsites when I booked. I have probably left 8 messages two different phone numbers and a message online. In the two weeks of trying to cancel my reservation they returned my call twice. Thankfully the second time I answered the call. Finally got my site cancelled… but I didn’t receive my refund. I’ve left two more messages and no return phone call. I have all the screen shots of my calls and the email I sent… I have resorted to filing a dispute with cc. Edit: I was refunded the full amount through my credit union. Business never replied to dispute.
A deluxe campsite isn't very deluxe $70 a night. No full hook-ups and if you want to get pumped out so you can shower and do dishes in your RV, you have to put in the request the day before. No exceptions. We arrived at 7 PM. Set up your site, go to the store to request for the next day. They are closed even though I told the women who checked us in we would need it, we didn't sign the paper for it. The next day I asked and they said no. We needed to do it the day before. We have to shower in their restrooms small and tons of mosquitoes. The campground had many swampy areas- so lots of bugs. I wish they were more accommodating because the campground was cute. Full hook-ups for the price would have been nice as well.
It’s cute but I would not call this a camping resort. Amenities are limited and areas need updating/maintenance I.e. the playground, lake, sites. When we arrived, there was a sign on the door stating nobody was in the office from 12-2pm and to pick a site. We found a few open sites but with a 36 foot, or bigger, camper, your options are limited. A lot of the sites were not long enough or level enough to accommodate us, which was a bit frustrating. It would be nice to have a set site and know you are going to fit, than to arrive and have nowhere to go. The Website makes no mention of having a shuttle to and from Saratoga Performing Arts Center. I booked this place because it was close to SPAC, but ended up paying $50 for premier parking at the concert I was attending because I assumed there was no shuttle at the campground. Upon check in, they have a paper at the front desk stating they offer a shuttle to and from SPAC and I said to I’m assuming one of the owners I didn’t see it on your website, you should advertise that, he proceeded to talk over me, telling me how much people loved the shuttle service and how they could go to and from the concert without worrying about DWI, etc… I again tried to tell him guests would probably like to know that a shuttle is available but he again talked over me and I gave up trying to talk to him about it. I doubt we will come back. There are definitely better places for the same amount we paid to stay here. My advice to the owners: If you’re going to be in the guest relations/hospitality business, you should take constructive criticism so you can give your guests a better experience.
Lovely location, campsites located around a beautiful setting with natural wildlife visitors daily. Drawbacks weekends are loud with parties and no rules are in place for quiet times etc. WiFi is very limited and no television as advertised. Not important to us but shouldn't be part of the price if not included. Extra items like firewood aren't always available. Sites aren't maintained well as it's a lot to ask of the minimal staff that's there, they do the best they can.
If I could give 0 stars I most definitely would! I booked the cabin before reading others horror stories of the campground, when I tried canceling months in advance i made 10+ phone calls to the given number with voicemails and texts as well as messages to the Facebook page to only be read! Almost $600 for the cabin and the way they’re handling the situation makes me glad we decided to pick another destination for a weekend birthday getaway! Poor customer service & extremely unhappy.
I remember goin here in July New York it was pretty neat here in the cabins we made a fire by are camper I remember goin here like yesterday
