So yummy, absolutely love this place! It's not big, and it gets super busy, and people continues to flood in, then you know this place is no joke!! Sang-ji was super delicious, juicy and HOT! Be careful when you indulge them, the won-ton soup was so comforting, and the noodle was super aromatic and with a great texture! I'll come back definitely!!
Very convenient location. First attempted and fell in love. Food served fast and very hot. Their fried baos are so yummy and juicy! The bao was crispy on one side and soft on the other side. When you bite into it, you get mouth full of soup! Their Dry Noodle with Scallion Oil and Peanuts was also very tasty. Love their garlic deep fried pork ribs with sweet and spicy sauce. Cost effective and delicious. Highly recommend!
Best fried baos I've had ever! Their dry scallion noodles are delicious! Going to try their won ton soup tonight. I order out from here a few times a month. Sometimes they can be super busy but it's worth the wait!!
Food is great especially the original bao buns. It’s filled with pork broth that is on the sweeter note. The skin is soft on the top part and fragrant with sesame seeds; bottom part is crispy. Good textural contrast. Pork ribs is crispy and balanced in flavour; it’s deep fried riblets type of small pork ribs and two fried rice cake served with sweet Thai chilli sauce. It’s pretty good as a starter The dough fritter rolls is just a so so for us, it’s wrapped with an eggy type of skin and topped with pork floss. This is a “no repeat” for us. The wonton soup is ok, serves hot and perfect for a cold winter day like today -20C. Wonton is bite-size filled with pork. Wonton skin is not as thin as I’d like it but I think that’s just preferences. The dry noodle is nothing special, it’s literally boiled noodles topped with fried onion and very very very little peanuts. I got literally 1 piece of a crushed peanut. So, this is also a “no repeat” for us. Now food wise we would rate this place as a 4-star restaurant. What makes the experience worst is the service. It was pretty packed when we arrived and we were asked to leave a phone number and were to wait for 20 mins. They call us and it went to the voicemail as I was on the other line. However, we proceeded straight into the restaurant literally the same minute that called us. However, they gave the table away to other patron and without hearing us out; they yelled “you didn’t pick up our phone so I give table away”. We waited another 20 mins for another table which made us waited around 40 Mins for this food. Yeah, so this made our experience a little rough to start. When we were dining, all the servers were yelling sorry here and there. I think the flow of the restaurant made them constantly bumping themselves to customers/people. There’s not a lot of good operational flow in the restaurant. Overall, a good place to do take out because food is good. Dining in wise it’s still a 3 for us.
Fried baos are delicious! Hard to find a good one in the GTA area. The original one is great, lots of piping hot soup inside and the exterior is crispy/crunchy at the bottom. The curry one is good too but I find it to be really heavy and greasy after having 2. Prices are reasonable and I recommend coming during midday so you can avoid the dinner rush.
Came here to just try these dumplings and they were absolutely yummy! The pan fried dumplings has lots of delicious soup inside. You can tell it’s great without eating as the place is packed and continuously has people coming in to order takeaway also.
First time trying and ordering takeout from them. Ordered at 1:13, was told would take 25-30 mins. I showed up at 2:00 and still had to wait about 5 minutes. The place was really busy and there's really no place to social distance by the cashier when you're picking up takeout. Also did not provide a bottle of hand sanitizer. It was incredibly hectic at the back but the staff were still courteous. They only take debit or cash. Ordered: curry bao, original bao, fried ribs, and wonton soup. Including tax this was about $37. Their baos are like bigger versions of Shanghai dumplings with a nice crunchy bottom from the frying process. The wonton soup literally is just wonton and soup. Their fried ribs were good, very juicy, great crunch, and well flavored though a bit salty. Overall, food was good but very heavy in msg and salt. I liked that they only used recyclable takeout containers. Worth a try if you're in the area. Not sure I would go back though, not really food that I would crave. And for lunch, the portions are small so after ordering so much, it's not so cost effective.
Very juice original pork dumplings! Limited menu makes ordering easy…. New location is more spacious but lineups are still there. Worth the wait tho!
One of my new favourite restaurants! You can’t go wrong the original pork sang-ji bao and the dry scallion noodle. The curry sang-ji bao and the savoury dough fritter roll also taste great! Be prepared to wait for a while if you go at a peak time as seating is limited. There is also a huge draft from the basement where the washroom is located, which is something to be mindful of. Can’t wait to go back for more!
The baos may be a little pricier for the amount but they’re amazing quality and I’ve never had them like this. They stay crispy even after an hour. So good and one of a kind. The soup in them is delicious as well.
