Arguably the best beach for walking on the Cape. Very long with great views and an especially nice sunrise. It is rocky and and the water is colder on the north side, but still a great spot and FAR less commercial than the south side.

We went for the hike to the campsite and were very well treated. Since we drove from CT they took our names and reserved a spot for us. It's a 3.5 mile hike to the tent site. The trail is a mix of sand, gravel and grass. Water is delivered to the tent site. Great! There are parking spots for hikers staying overnight. Great!

Sandy neck is a lovely beach and the Rangers and gate staff are always really friendly and helpful. The beach has a big snack shack/bathroom place if you are just parking in their lot. They also allow certain vehicles to drive on the beach but you need a permit. If you are the very adventurous type, you can park and walk down the marsh trail to campsites on trail four, but beware- it is a long hike and the campsite can be full of mosquitos and ticks. Best for experienced campers.
