SALT BOX HANCOCK

We chose here thinking it would be a wonderful dining experience due to being treated so well by the owners at Fisherman's Galley across the street. We should have saved our money and gone across the street again for the best lobster roll, blueberry pie, and service in the area. They know how to treat customers! The food ( small plates) was good but the hostess was so rude that our waitress kept apologizing. Too bad, we would have tried more but this was our last night in area and we were very disappointed. Everyone else in that area was so friendly and charming. Such a shame.

Excellent. Had the culotte steak, and it was perfectly done and oh, so tender. The mashed potatoes and roasted veg were properly prepared and seasoned. My friend had the rabbit pot pie, which, after a bite, I wished I had ordered, as well. Such great depth of flavor while preserving the individual integrity of each ingredient! The peekytoe crab dip was an excellent appetizer, and our server Jo was attentive without being intrusive. Excellent all the way around.

This is amazing place to eat. The chef is creative and off the wall with his amazing dishes. Service is amazing and so is the view! We eat here any chance we get.

Absolutely AMAZING! Possibly the best restaurant in all of Downeast Maine! Literally everything we ate was made to perfection. The homemade pasta with cream sauce was divine. My recommendation - GO!!! One thing to remember - for some reason the iphone maps takes you to their old location in Hancock even though the address looks correct. Hand put in the address to your GPS of choice.

Food was very good. The steak was awesome. The service was absolutely horrible though, so bad it would stop us from returning.
