We just finished up a week long trip (our first ever) at the Salmon Arm Camping Resort. I have nothing bad to say. The hosts were gracious, available, but gave our large family the space and freedom we wanted. We stayed up late around the fire, swam in the pool each day, bought our kids ice cream a couple of times, and truly enjoyed our entire week with them. We found it was the perfect balance of a real camping experience with the convenience of full amenities nearby. We've been searching for a campground that suits all of our family members needs (some have trailers, some prefer tenting, others would like a cabin) and this place was fantastic. Zero complaints, we will be back next year.

The Salmon Arm Camping Resort continues to be the highlight of our summer! Our family loves this incredible slice of paradise, from the pool and hot tub, to the "candy store" where the girls get an ice cream every afternoon, to the towering trees and landscaped grounds. The staff at this family owned campground are truly amazing, and make this the safe, family-friendly, and beautiful place that it is. Everything was almost perfect. Sites were not as nice and private as I hoped. We stayed in c2. Great neighbor's as they lease there site. Overall I would return. Weekend music and nice ownership

We have been here for 3 days (of 8) so far, we paid for full hookups, they have 30amp service. Has never been a problem, we know what we can run and what we can't. We have over 30 years of camping/RV'ing experience. First campground where we can't run an AC. Even with all things switched to propane. Owner basically blames us for using too many things at once, not the case. Just trying to cool down is all. On day 2 the campgrounds transformer blew, perhaps because we are all trying to cool off. Bottom line, if your campground can not handle full use of services then you should write that somewhere on your website, or advise campers at time of booking. This is a very popular summer destination. We could have and would have chosen a different campground had we known this in advance. Our only saving grace so far has been cool evenings.

It was decent, except the pool water was dirty enough that we could barely see our feet in 5’ of water, and the hot tub jets were turned off to ‘save power’. All was fine until about the 6th or 7th night, one person in our party noticed a few others around us were having fires (in a fire-ban area). We headed over to the office to talk to them about the campfire ban, and the campfires. They have security who you are supposed to be able to call about things like this, but the only numbers posted on the doors were the fire department, and the neighboring dog kennel. After talking with a bystander, she convinced me to call 911 and report the campers with the fires. It wasn't until I was on the phone with the fire department trying to give them an address and directions that the owner comes out of her private residence (directly attached to the office) and starts asking questions, and calls over security. As i am on the phone with the dispatch, she begins raising her voice, and that I 'better damn well know that they are wood fires”. After getting off the phone she forces me to walk with her around the camp sites and show her such fires. The first one we walked by she yelled at me that they were gas fires, then without even getting remotely close to the campfire that caught my interest (crackling and wood burning smell) she proceeds to raise her voice again and states “that one is gas, I’ll tell you that right now”. After a couple more minutes of refusing to walk around if she wasn’t even going to check it out properly I walk away, head back to the office where my SO was waiting. The owner proceeds to come back and start in on us again, after having to tell her to calm down and trying to explain that our only concern was the campfires in a fire-ban area, especially with all the wild fires, evacuations and state of emergency B.C She proceeds to tell us that her main concern was the fire department showing up, and the media getting a hold of the story as they just recently had an incident with the media and a telephone pole fire.We decided to go wait at the entrance to tell the authorities I was mistaken, security was already down there waiting. He tells us to call them and cancel, that we will get the fine for them just being gas fires. So I get on the phone to cancel, while my SO talks to him and explains that with the wildfires and everything we were concerned because of the crackling and fire burning smell, he then reassured me that gas fires don’t crackle (EXACTLY OUR POINT) and that we were definitely mistaken, and that he drives his golf cart around every 5 minutes. Which isn’t at all true, as some nights we were outside our cabin until 2 a.m. and we had never seen him. However 5 minutes after everything was all said and done, he did drive around once, About 45 minutes to an hour after seeing him drive around, we seen and overheard him from our tent site, chit-chatting for quite a bit of time to the people in the site that had the fire that really struck my concern. The part of the conversation that I heard was him telling the campers how a young guy and his girlfriend had called the fire department. I almost felt like he was watching us and the RV site overlooked our tent site as the conversation continued on until we had shut our lights off and went to bed – that was the last we seen him and we still had 1 or two more nights left. With all the circumstances of the occurrence, it is pretty clear to me that their only concern is their image in the media, and the happiness of some long-time customers, and avoiding any fines that could have been handed to them. No actual concern for the well-being of the province, or what was actually going on in their campground, just concerned for their image, customers and wallets. The province you call home is/was in a state of emergency, people are being evacuated from their homes, hectares of land burning and animals loosing habitat. I cannot and will not support a business that is so self-centered in such a devastating time for so many. I still regret cancelling that call...
