This cute little gem on the Danforth is one of the best authentic Japanese restaurants. I've been eating here for past 4 years and everything is delicious! Service is exceptional too! I love the Miso Black Cod so much but have tried just about everything one the menu.
This Japanese restaurant is great - very easy to find, and it's closed to the metro station. The staff is friendly, and this place is quiet peaceful. I ordered 2 dishes - 1 dine-in and 1 for take-out: #1 Omu Rice with Salad - $16.99CAD #2 Takoyaki - $11.99CAD Total include tax - $32.75CAD *I feel it's a little expensive...... but not too expensive...... Overall everything is good, and I enjoy eating there - though I was the only customer when I came in, nothing bad there :- If I have a chance to walk by, I think I may dine in again.
An absolute gem in the city of Toronto. A warm, cozy, welcoming place serving food that is made with passion, care, and detail. I'm not from Japan but I would imagine someone who is from there would feel full of nostalgia and thoughts of home eating this food. The cheesecake? I don't even enjoy cake and the cheese cake was brilliant. Excellent!
Awesome spot for some classic Japanese breakfast with amazingly friendly staff. Love to see napolitan on the menu! Will have to come back to try it. As for the ramen, the tonkotsu was okay. The broth is decent but a bit lighter than I like personally. The noodles are good but nothing to write home about. The pork could definitely be softer, and was a bit chewy. The hell ramen however had a much richer broth and overall a more enjoyable bowl.
Loved the neopolitan Japanese pasta - it had a unique sweetness to it and was surprisingly filling. I would have loved to give 5 stars for it but unfortunately my hamburger steak was kinda overcooked and too tough, while my chukadon was a touch too salty.
I came to Sakawa Coffee for dinner on a Thursday. It's a small and quiet restaurant. I ordered the omurice with salad, hamburger steak and ice matcha latte. The menu is pretty expensive for a casual restaurant. I didn't really enjoy the flavours of the food because I dislike tomatoes but it is worth noting that the hamburger steak was cooked very well. It had a great texture and was really juicy. The ice matcha latte was yummy. I will come back in the future to try other items on their menu.
Very attentive staff. The meals we ordered were big in portion and flavour Hell ramen with extra noodles and curry rice with chicken katsu.
Crispy, juicy and thick pork tonkatsu. Curry was flavourful and rich in flavour. Rice was slightly overcooked. I've been on the hunt for a good tonkatsu and curry and this hits top 5 favourites so far! I ordered a second time and was pretty disappointed. The pork tonkatsu and curry was not good as the first time and the tuna Don wasn't good and didn't taste fresh.
Got the shio ramen and it was so-so. The noodles were all stuck together, and the pork was over cooked so not very tender. I didn't find the broth to be as salty or flavourful as other places. That being said, a lot of other things on their menu looked really good, so I'm excited to try and update my review! Update: I've gotten the fried mackerel a few times and it's so good! Always ready within 20 minutes, and they pack it in foil so it stays warm on the way home. Have changed my review to 4 stars just for this.
Ordered an Omurice and Oyakudon combo, each came with a fresh salad and miso soup. The side order of Takoyaki and each of the meals were generous in portion. My Oyakudon will definitely feed me for 2 meals! Can't wait to try the rest of their menu. Excited for Japanese fare that showcases other meals outside of the typical Sushi and Ramen
