The popular bakery has just recently opened one more location, this one on W41st Ave. in the heart of Kerrisdale. Here you will find a wide assortment of sweet and savoury breads, delectable egg or cheese tarts, and cakes, but also available are several frozen options for you to finish baking at home. As well, this shop has added a few drinks hot & cold, and a small seating area in case you decide not to wait and eat your purchase right there. The quality of their products has been a constant, and their prices very reasonable, these are the reasons why the chain has been so successful. Recommend!
Bright, spacious, and clean Chinese bakery. They have a huge selection of buns, cakes, cookies, and more. As with most Chinese bakeries, most of the pastries are individually wrapped and meant to be grabbed with tongs and loaded onto a tray while you shop. Plenty of hand sanitizer around. It was decently busy when I visited, but there's enough room in the store that it wasn't crowded. I tried 3 pastries Sweet Corn Bun, Preserved Egg Pie, and a slice of Black Sesame Cake and all were amazing. They all had richly flavoured fillings with a nice balance of sweet and savoury, the cake wasn't too sweet, and tasted super fresh. I like that they have some harder-to-find flavours in their selection of pastries in addition to the classics! They also have some drinks available! I got their HK Milk Tea and found the tea to have a nice complex flavour. Will definitely be coming back to try more.
Ordered the mango fresh fruit cake on the phone for pickup. We customized it to be rectangular and paid extra for full fruit on top instead of having it in the border. Tasty Everyone asked where it was from
I’ve had about 4 birthday cakes from this bakery and all were great. Tonight was a durian cake. After the initial backing away because of the smell, we braved that first taste and that’s all it took. We loved that there were chunks of durian throughout and that the cake was so moist and creamy, too.
They are a great bakery with excellent cakes. Pricing is reasonable for the presentation that they put together, I am in love with the rose petal cakes that they do. It's all edible and very tasty. They are incredibly busy and rightly so, they have a ticket system so make sure you pay attention to that or your turn will be skipped. They've also got a large selection of baked goods, Chinese and western pastries. I wish they had proper seating but considering that it's in oakridge mall you can go to the food court and sot down with it.
I always like their pastries. Fluffy! My friend lives down the street when I visit him I always visit them. They have all the standard Chinese pastries. The ones I like the most is the chicken pie and bbq chicken pie. Mind you they are a bit too salty imo. The staff there is friendly.
My favorite bakery. Clean, tidy with a lot of varieties. The breads are fresh and consistent. I like that it's all individually packaged.
Pre-order’d a cake and picked it up the weekend of birthday. Took it to a restaurant to cut it but also got charged cake cutting fee. End up finding blue moldy dots on our cake and only a couple people ate their cake with no mold dots. There was also no blueberry on the cake. Just a pure mango cake. BEWARE!!! Buy your mango cakes else where!!! Many places make mango cakes now a days!!
Yesterday was my son's birthday and I order 2 cakes for delivery and the biggest one was terrible and smelling like ROTTEN ONIONS. I served my guests with this disgusting cake and it stank my entire house. Not mentioning my kid frustration for not be able to eat a cake on his birthday. SHAME ON YOU. I never felt so embarrassed and disappointed and I am still waiting for the customer service team to fix it.
This small chocolate cake is $33, taste not bad, but really really rich of chocolate! Even though it is small, should be enough for 6 adults :
