Delicious! First time ordering from here & first time ordering Somalian food used Skip the Dishes. Even the little side of soup which looked plain was so tasty. The ginger tea was a nicely spiced chai with cardamom too, not overly sweet. Always happy to find new restaurants / cuisines that use spices well!
This place is one of a kind and nothing like you would find in the rest of the city. Lots of flavour and smells amazing. Also, the staff were great. They were very open and friendly. For the food, I got the plate which was amazing, but I've tried their wrap before which I'd also recommend.
I had anjeero for the first time here and it was sooooo good. It's a crepe made of fermented dough, similar to the Ethiopian injera, but less sour and not made of teff. I got the anjeero with the liver breakfast plate which also comes with Somali milk tea. The liver is very good, but a bit too oily for my tastes. If they used less oil, I would be in love with the dish. The milk tea was creamy and gingery. I really enjoyed it. The beef and chicken suquaar plate is also delicious! Full of flavour. The only thing that is boring is the salad. Just iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. But the vegetables were fresh. Don't come here for the salad, lol. Beef and chicken suquaar plate, and liver and anjeero for the win! Lol.
It was our first time there and the food was delicious! Tried the rice with chicken, rice with lamb, salad and samosa. All were very good just a warning the food is spicy and delicious. Staff is very friendly. Price is good. You get a lot of food. Definitely will go back.
The food here is sooooo fresh. Really impressed with the quality and taste. The portions are huge and would most likely last you for two meals. Prices are also cheap for the amount of food you get.
Food is delicous, price to food ratio is very good, service was great and accomdating. One of my favorite restaurants in Ottawa for sure, highly reccomend.Food: 5/5
I tried chicken sandwich with samosa and tea. The taste is ultimate and price also reasonable. The place is neat and clean. Staff behavior is very good. Some time It’s difficult to get seat especially for Friday lunch time. I just ordered from this restaurant for a workplace holiday potluck and I was so happy with with the flavour and back home aromas, presentation they put some red and green food colouring on the rice, adorable touch! and value. Ordered trays of bariis and beef suqaar. I will definitely be ordering other menu items in the future. Owner was wonderful and helpful with my order. Plus pick-up was great, young men at the front had great customer service skills. 5/5.
Service and food were great. Everything is cooked from scratch and very flavorful . Good size portions and friendly/fast service. It was our first visit for a working lunch and we had a great experience. Definitely would recommend Vegetarian options: They had good vegetarian options. Parking: Good amount of parking spaces.
Delicious food, great service and super friendly staff!! Can't wait to go back a second, third, fourth+ times!!
