Safeway Strawberry Hills

Been coming here for years. Staff is always helpful at the Starbucks counter. Lines are never very long and selection is decent, especially recently in the gluten-free section. Upgrading to 4 star where previously the sandwich counter had been largely vacant, but now is always staffed.

I've always loved this Safeway. Not too big, handy and friendly; it's always easy to park and we use the drug store there for all our prescriptions. I am so sad to see it going! Apparently its going to be a discount grocery store to my knowledge but I wish Safeway were staying. Im glad to hear that the drugstore will still remain intact.

So sad they're closing down. The staff we've known for the last fifteen years will be missed. The manager was personable. Sobey's screw you for whatever you are doing even if you're rebranding them as your low cost budget store - your home product is already low budget.

The staff at this location have always been friendly and welcoming. I've always found that Safeway has very high quality meats in their deli compared to other supermarkets.

This store is convenient, friendly super easy to find all the items I need. The pharmacy is great too! I have always found the shelves well stocked and the deli foods fresh. Self check out is convenient too.

Bought a cake and as I was walking out of the store, the top half of the cake dislodged from the bottom. When I took it back in, the staff member I gave it to turned to her coworker and right in front of me said "Can you make another one? He probably dropped it." The coworker was much better. She apologized and made another one in 10 minutes.

As I walked into the store there was a sample tray with a variety of fresh cut up fruits. This was a great idea but it would be most helpful if there were a small container of toothpicks to use. This would hopefully prevent people from using dirty fingers to pick up the fruits & possibly drop a fruit in amongst the others. For example, there were many blueberries and it would be very difficult for someone to scoop up a few berries without dropping a couple berries that would get mixed in with the other blueberries. I know this is a first world problem but we need to be cognizant of proper food handling.

Usually not a bad experience, but Christmas Eve I had the worst experience ever. Our cashier was so rude and squished our groceries from a broken children's hospital donation box. She also dropped our groceries when bagging them . She didn't even say hi or anything. She should not work in customer service.

One of the last places that doesn't charge for bags, they lowered their prices, they don't ask for coins for shopping carts any more, good sales sometimes, more airmiles promotions than usual.

Deli sandwiches are the best here. Way better then subway... fresh ingredients at a fair price. Turkey, bacon and chipotle is my favorite.
