Mc-Oak Bakery or Kam-Oak Bakery

We have had cakes from this bakery at our family's bday parties and decided to order cakes for my daughter's birthday. The cake for smashing was wonderful, I also ordered 100 cupcakes and a 8 inch cake to cut. Everything was wonderful, many guests were asking where I got the cake from. They were all asking for the contact information for the bakery. All in all, we loved every cake I picked up from the bakery for my daughter's first birthday and would definitely order more in future.

The cake looked and tasted amazing. I was hesitant at first by looking at low ratings of reviews but I’m glad I took a chance. Made my sisters day even more special with a perfect amount of sweetness. Great Job!

Haven’t had a cake from here in quite a few years. Was always excellent when chinese owned and then owned by Indo-Canadians for past 20+ yrs. Wanting to support local, I went at opening to get my all-time favourite Fruit Cocktail Cake. I was told to come back at 2pm as none were ready made. Contrary to previous reviews, there is cut up cantaloupe, honeydew and strawberries in the filling, as well as beautifully garnished on top. The cake is light and not overly sweet as a sponge cake should be.

Their eggless fruit cakes are so delicious. They aren’t over filling and sugary. Totally recommend. I would advise to call and get business hours as the hours on here are not accurate.

My family has been coming to Kam Oak Bakery for over 20 years, but lately the quality and customer service has plummeted. In the past two months, we ordered fruit cakes for three birthdays in the family. On all occasions, the cake was below edible quality. On the inside it was dry and stale and the fruit was next to tasteless. Kam Oak’s fruit cakes were one of the best ones in the Lower Mainland at one point, but this is not the case anymore. I would never pay almost $40 for a 6” fruit cake yes, that’s what we were charged that tastes like it was made two weeks ago. Unfortunately, my family won’t be giving Kam Oak anymore business in the future.

Avoid this place like the plague. Sorry, avoid it like COVID. Gave them a picture and asked if they can make the cake design look like that and they said yeah no problem. It looked like GARBAGE. Like a cheap knock off $1 version of the cake I wanted and charged $75. Like if you can't make it like the picture just say so? I could have gotten what I wanted elsewhere then.

Always got cakes from this bakery for almost all family occasions for the past some years now. The family prefers cakes to be simple, sans fruits, just the sponge and icing and kam-oak has never failed to deliver. They are consistent in flavor and the best part is how well balanced the sugar is. Above all else, in my personal experience, going here enough times to be able to say the women/staff who work here have always been a pleasure to deal with, they are kind and friendly and I hope that continues. Today they only had fruit cocktail cakes readily available but they didnt let me leave empty handed and offered to bake me a cake the way I wanted. It may not have been a big deal to them but things like this is why I as a customer like going to such a place. Thank you for a wonderful experience always, especially today. Do recommend others to give it a try.

They are a bit high priced but the taste will not disappoint you. Only downside is they sometimes close at random times or close too early weekdays. So it's hard to go get them.

Harvinder was very kind! I ordered my 3 tier wedding cake and she showed me some pictures to pick from. The cake arrived to my venue immaculate and on time. My guests complimented on the vanilla sponge & raspberry cream filling. It was delicious without being too sweet.
