I didn't think I'd like this place at all, but it's been a pleasant surprise. I've been back repeatedly and all their food is quite good. The entree portions are MASSIVE. They have some wonderful sauces for the American-style BBQ from spicy to sweet. I think they could improve the beer selection and their branded one is pretty bad. It might be Bud Light, or something. Women's bathroom needs better cleaning. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit.
I drove in from Edmonton visiting family in Calgary and decided to go for a drive to okotoks to site see a little bit with my nephew. We were hungry and he told me about this little gem of a restaurant. I was very impressed with the food and service! I loved the western theme, cute cowgirl waitresses and the general ambiance of the place. I would definitely recommend this establishment. I had the Houston burger and my nephew had the ribs and by god the portions were big! Reasonable prices too!
Our server was friendly and competent and did her best to deal with a awkward situation. Company Christmas party. Booked to order off the menu. But that's not what the person on the phone wrote down, so a standard meal was prepared. Our server allowed us to order off the menu. Unfortunately some orders one deep fried pickles, one bucket of bacon didn't arrive, and some orders got messed-up a new York sirloin became a peppercorn which was returned to the kitchen, and promptly came back out again for another person, with the cut made by the previous person still in evidence and a rare became medium well, and the time between arrival of the various meals was such that some were cold by the time the last arrived. The meals, once finally delivered, were excellent.

Edited my post from my last one 2 years ago. This place went from amazingly good, to terribly bad when the new ownership took over. Thankfully they have improved a fair bit. Food quality definitely has improved although their bbq could be better as it tastes a bit rushed and not authentic. Their burgers are great and huge. Their beer selection could definitely be improved with only one local beer and the rest AB-INBEV. Adding 2 more stars.
We were there at six pm on a Friday. The place was pretty much empty. We sat upstairs on the patio. We ordered drinks and they came quickly. Our server was great. The beer from the tap didn't match the lable, but it was drinkable. We ordered the rib sampler with sides of corn on the cob and potato salad. The beef ribs were very good, the pork ribs were tough and chewy..just terrible..the worst ever. The corn on the cob was luke warm and the potato salad was pedestrian at best. We had to tell the server. We... well actually I pretty much finished everything since I was starving. The server took the entire meal off our bill despite my objections.
Drove down from Calgary for dinner last night. Waited 20 minutes to even have a server acknowledge us and offer us menus. We decided to stay and have dinner as a previous trip by one of us had been good so just thought it was a slow start to the night. WRONG! We ordered our food and proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait again. 34 minutes later our food was brought out. Yes we timed it. We were only offered refills once when we were half way through our food although they had been empty for at least 20 minutes. The server was complaining that one of the other servers were having "issues" that were being dealt with. During our time there we saw one Busser clear 1 table while 4 others sat dirty for the entire time and were still dirty as we left. We will definitely not be returning. We drove past a BBQ place on the north side of town on our way in so no reason to go to the south side now. The food was good but definitely not worth almost an hour wait for it.
Operated the concession at the Field House. Only one worker there for a tournament last weekend. Waited over thirty minutes for food. Burgers were burnt. Expensive. Thirty dollars for three meals. Emailed restaurant to complain but they have chosen not to reply or comment. They could have helped to make this right by acknowledging they did a poor job but no comment seems they do not care. Will not try the restaurant.
The staff is amazing, and very helpful. It is worth the drive from Calgary. Their burgers are to die for, and their loaded baked potato is the best I have ever had. They are very family friendly, and you will never get bad food.
I used to love coming here the food was great and the price couldn't be beat. But, since it come under new ownership I believe the whole place went downhill fast,.The food portions have went down and the price went up. I do understand food cost and yada yada. But that shouldn't make the food quality take a dive. Maybe it should take a dive in the sea at least it would have taste. I do remember the place having nice atmosphere it must have be exorcised out to proved room for the suckage. However the staff were friendly.
