Story

Under new ownership since December 2016. Okotoks Natural Foods strives to meet your needs when it comes to healthier alternatives! Family owned and operated, we provide Okotoks and surrounding areas with organic, gluten-free, and dairy-free options plus much more! We offer a full produce section, groceries, meat, dairy, supplements, herbs, personal care, and cleaning products. As much as possible we source from local producers and have quite a unique selection in what we offer. The shopping experience is relaxed, simple, and comfortable, making it easy to take time to read labels and make the healthiest choices. Knowledgeable staff will help you locate what you need, or assist you in finding products that are right for your daily lifestyle or health regime.

I bought some bee pollen they recommended to me - brought it home and my family and I tried it and the taste was bad and the texture was like eating sand. I buy bee pollen frequently and this is not normal for the product but I had never tried this particular brand. I tried to return it but the store said that they do not take returns for consumables that have been opened... however, their receipt only states "return policy: within 30 days with receipt" with no mention that the product cannot be opened. This is frustrating as I buy bee pollen from other brands often I am familiar with the taste and texture, and it seems that the brand they carry either is poor quality or had a bad batch which is what I think the issue is. Frustrating that they don't stand behind their products... It would be different if I was trying a new food for the first time and simply did not like it but this product itself is just poor quality. Nutters has a better return policy and stands behind the quality of their products and is only a few feet away and it is also a natural food store.

I'm just in town for the weekend and wanted to skip eating takeout. They had an amazing mix of food items, and the Lakeview Gluten-Free Bakery Morning Glory Muffins they sell was worth the trip to Okotoks alone!
The staff is very knowledgeable and recently assisted me with a stomach issue that I have been working on with doctors for over 2 years with no improvement. The issue, after 1 1/2 months with their suggestions, is almost non existent.
Helpful staff. Lots of selection given the overall size. Great to see new products on a regular basis.
Staff - most were amazing. The cashier was aweful tho. It is my due date and I was grabbing some final vitamins and supplements. Arms overflowing after spending 150$ and I wasn't offered a bag - I honestly didn't think of asking for one - cuz the 2 ladies in front of me never got one. I assumed they had none and walked 2 cars down to mine and dropped 2 products that smashed everywhere. ; such a bummer and waste of time and energy i guess its time nutters next time.
A good selection of health products and prices are very competitive. The staff is very knowledgeable and happy to accommodate special orders. They have a good customer loyalty program that I benefit from and a good variety of occasional workshops with guest presenters. I appreciate the variety of locally-grown products and love the new location wider aisles and more selection.
A shout out from the mountain tops to Okotoks Natural Foods. Our go to health food store from when you took over Highwood Natural Foods, you never cease to amaze us with your above and beyond customer service. From help with selecting the right supplements to managing special order requests to supporting local products to friendly delivery service, you simply rock. Grateful you are here serving everyone in the Foothills.
James and Brenda and all their staff are amazing, they're knowledgeable and friendly. I met them just a few days ago while doing a VitaMix promotion at the Costco and decided to host a VitaMix Cooking Class in their store. Still doing the planning for it it's next week but so far they've been great to deal with. I love when companies like this care about educating their customers and put the effort into hosting classes and workshops.
I went here to buy some walnuts, almonds and lentils. I ended up opting to purchase their personally packaged containers of nuts at the back near the produce. They tasted off like they were very old. I also purchased a variety of lentils from the bulk bins and those lentils definitely need to be replaced. I'm not sure how long they have been sitting there but they tasted and had the texture like old lentils would have. Cute store but I suggest only buying their items packaged by an imported company and make sure to check the expiry date.
