Rumour

This place is absolutely amazing! I come here quite often as it is local and keeps me away from the sometimes off-putting downtown establishments. Picture below is most my recent date night meal and the Blood Orange margaritas. The appetizer was the delicious and well-portioned lobster ceviche, followed by a perfectly cooked filet on a bed of asparagus and mashed. My girlfriend had the pesto orrichiette, which she said was "fire" and was portioned so well we ate it later for a snack. The bartender Geoff is knowledgeable and amazing, and Jon and Colleen who own the place are kind and actively involved in both management and service in their restaurant. This is my favorite spot for a classy and reasonable Missoula night out, and the atmosphere is amazing. Definitely a place to try out. The range of the menu also leaves an opening for an inexpensive sandwich with an extensive beer, wine, and liquor list. Thanks

Our experience here was beyond dismal, from start to finish. We were seated at a dirty table outside, and a family with kids who were yelling and running and crawling all over everything was immediately sat next to us, so we had to ask to be moved to another table. Our waitress made it clear from the time she came to took out drink orders that she didn’t want to be there. Arms crossed with a sour look on her face and sarcastic replies. Drinks took absolutely forever to come out, as did the appetizers after that. I was told they were out of what I ordered, which was risotto. Who runs out of rice..? My husband had an empty beer for about half an hour as our waitress passed our table several times and also ignored empty plates that just sat there. The table next to us was a large table, and she paid a lot of attention to them and treated them nicely while totally ignoring the two of us, so apparently tables who will leave a big tip are her priority. When the entrees finally arrived, they were seriously gross. My husband’s burger was beyond nasty. The patty was uneven and beyond over cooked. There was a hard egg on top. The buns were incredibly soggy, as it had obviously sat waiting to be picked up for a good long while. The fries were cold and soggy and overcooked. My $35 plate of lobster pasta was disgusting. The lobster was hard, rubbery, and clearly old. The pasta itself was so bland. We both barely ate any of our food and declined boxes, but our waitress couldn’t care less and didn’t bother to ask if anything was wrong with the food. We really regret going to this restaurant for our anniversary, it was truly awful.

From start to finish this meal was a real experience for me! With each course it just got better and better! The food was presented beautifully, and made fresh . I would recommend the mushroom appetizer. If you like mushrooms, you'll love how these are prepared . I usually hesitate at ordering fish in a restaurant, but took a chance on the halibut, and I'm happy that I tried it! Absolutely perfectly cooked! The Turkish coffee dessert tray was on a special daily menu and was really fun! loved it all

Tried this place for the first time. It was my friends second, and her idea. We were all so glad to get to try this place out. The atmosphere was off the hook. It was really nicely laid out with lots of nooks, cozy tables, unique lighting, filled with oversized cushioned chairs and couches. There was also plenty of space for huge groups. Infact they had a wedding party scheduled there for a rehearsal dinner. The spread looked really nice They have live music on Tuesdays and Saturdays I think. There was a great local band there the night we were there. Harmonica accompanied band with a folksy, bluesy kind of sound. We tried a bunch of different appetizers and also bought some main course plates to share. Every thing was super tasty except the BBQ platter. I liked some of it but the other four people really disliked the sauce and brats. They also said the pork was too dry. Sorry to say but no one wants to try that again, but everything else was great tasting to me. Wished my smoked salmon and pasta was a little bigger for 24.00. Other pasta places seem to know noodles are cheap so they give you a lot of those so you feel full even if the seafood is a little sparse. Still if you love smoked salmon, you should try Rumors. We had bacon wrapped figs which were awesome but you only get 5. I make these for all my parties. One package of bacon and a box of Costco figs will make almost fifty. Hmmmm I think platting them in a pretty way, is more what they are after. Sad. They were awesome and within a minute, I think we were all looking at each other wishing for more. We had the freshly made pork rinds and salsa which were awesome. The artichoke crab dip had mixed reviews at our table, but I liked it. It was nice and chunky with lots of artichoke pieces. Now the DRINKS WERE DANG AWESOME. No complaints there for me. Yum Yum Yum. I love their spin on some old cocktail favorites of mine. They have a ton of beers and wine on tap. Everyone is gonna love that part I promise. It's not a "rumour" you will like something here, so give it a try.

Lovely chicken goat cheese pizza with sun blushed tomatoes!! Service was excellent once they knew we were there. Staff was friendly and helpful in answering all our questions. Went back the next day for lunch and they made us pizza...even though it's not on the lunch menu. Good enough to recommend to a friend that same night!

Had not been to Rumour's since they redid the menu and opened the tap room. Both are outstanding changes. The staff at Rumour's did a great job setting up for a birthday celebration with about 20 people. Starting with the loaded fries and meat/cheese platter appetizers all the way through to the Rumour Burger were great. The tap room has 80ish selections of micros and it should be a hit. I will visit Rumors again.

What a beautiful building, great food, amazing beer selection, and nice staff. They have a patio and a huge garage door out to it so we were able to sit inside but with enough ventilation to feel comfortable removing our masks. The staff was masked and sanitizer was on the tables. I had a delicious Cobb salad and my husband had the best falafel I’ve ever tasted. Just passing through but it scored points for Missoula.

The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The food was delicious, I definitely recommend the vietnamese fries , but as others have mentioned it is a little pricey. The staff where all kind , friendly and courteous.

Interesting architecture, funky furniture and great food and drinks. Meals are great and varied while the desserts are amazing. Well worth the trip, highly recommended - make sure you have reservations.

Food is good and very decorative. The atmosphere is relaxing and laid back. Service wasn't the best, we noticed our waiter focusing on her larger groups.
