Royal Oak - Kanata

Great open mic night. Cosy environment with friendly, fun staff. Host Jon Forbes is talented, super welcoming, and technically savvy. His well set-up and diligently managed sound system brought out the best in everyone. His own playing and singing pleased and inspired. And, his relaxed attitude is good medicine for stage fright :-).

I've been coming to The Oak in Kanata for a while now. The food is your normal pub fare but they make great club sandwiches and wings. I have yet to have a bad meal here. The best thing about this pub is the friendly staff. If you're looking for a great watering hole come check out The Oak in Kanata!

Good service. Food arrived quickly and of decent quality. Main issue was the price seemed a bit steep for pub fare.

Was there on Saturday to try this location for the first time, extremely cold (said heat was at 100%. Wings were not bad (1 med and 1 honey garlic) order took almost an hour to come. We then sprung for the deep fried mars bar, when it came my fiance took the first bite and to her horror bit into a hagus roll! after pure disgust her time was ruined. We ended up getting the mars bar compd. Not overly pleased and will never go back on a cold day or on a trivia night (we had no idea)

Standard fare with an decent collection of draft. It's quiet enough for a comfortable conversation which is a big plus for me.
