I honestly don’t even know where to begin. My family and I are beyond grateful for the incredible care my mom received during her surgery and recovery.nFrom the doctors and surgeon to every nurse and staff member, thank you for treating my mom with so much kindness, compassion, and professionalism. The surgery went so well, and knowing she was in such caring hands gave our family so much comfort during a very difficult time.nA very special thank you to Shiraz. You truly went above and beyond to make sure my mom was comfortable, safe, and cared for every step of the way. Your kindness, patience, and genuine compassion meant more to us than words can express.nThe hospital was incredibly clean, the room was spotless, and even the food was great. Every single person we met made us feel supported and cared for.nThank you to the entire team for everything you’ve done. We will always be grateful for the amazing care you gave my mom. You are all truly appreciated.
On June 10, 2026 I had neurosurgery on my cervical spine. At four different levels. Quite a major surgery! I was fortunate enough to be placed in the neurology ward in the brand new building at Royal Columbia Hospital. I cannot say enough About the excellent quality of care I received from my entire care team. From my outstanding neurosurgeon, Dr.N. Heran, To all of the amazing highly qualified nursing team, Care aids, sanitary cleaning staff, dietary, etc. I was truly impressed how these folks all operated like a well oiled machine. They are all overworked and underpaid yet they do it with a smile on their face and with such empathy and concern for my well-being. I have been hospitalized a number of times over the last few years at different hospitals in our region but the care I just received at Royal Colombian was above and beyond and greatly appreciated. I have no doubt I will continue to recover well at home because of this. Thank you, Royal Colombian, and all of your team! You are all angels with wings!
Asthma emergency poorly handled — left in hallway 12 hours without care or explanation :nnI arrived at Royal Columbian Hospital by ambulance around 5 a.m. on Oct 25 2025 with asthma symptoms and trouble breathing. I was kept in a hallway for about 12 hours without privacy or a room, even though I saw empty spaces. I wasn’t given breakfast or lunch—my first meal was dinner at 6 p.m.nnDr. Mohammed said, “If she’s well enough to complain, she’s well enough to go home,” while I was still struggling to breathe. Nurse Sara told me I wasn’t “sick enough” for a private area. I asked for the head nurse and a patient advocate—both unavailable. By 9 p.m., I still had breathing issues and was told only it might be pneumonia. I left because the situation was unbearable.nnSee attached photos showing the hallway where I was placed for 12 hours and nearby empty rooms. Patients deserve basic dignity and proper communication.
The maternity wing and staff were absolutely amazing when we had our first child there. All the doctors and nurses were super supportive, friendly, and professional. The semi-private and private rooms have enough space for visitors and a pull-out sofa bed that's comfortable enough for a few nights' sleep. We are really grateful they really took good care of us.
12 hrs in the emergency room waiting to see a doctor who clearly didn't care that I was in extreme pain, rather than running more tests to pin point what is causing it she dismisses it as chronic pain. Honestly thought royal Columbian would be better than surrey memorial but clearly it's just as bad. I understand the nurses are on strike and that there's limited doctors but patients who go in shouldn't be dismissed or forced to wait unimaginable hours while being in pain
