Roxy's Variety Store, Gas & Cabin Rentals

The new owners are horribly rude and have no sense of hospitality. The cabins had electrical wires cut off and hanging around. Mattresses looked old, worn and not clean. We decided not to stay and the owner refused to refund so he kept the money that was sent by etransfer. Owner also asked that we deposit extra $200 for possible damage to the cabins this time by credit card. We decided to go there because enjoyed this place years ago but I would recommend anyone to avoid this terrible experience. The receptionist was kind, professional and courteous.

Super friendly staff, nice location close to Tobermory and Halfway Log Dump and it’s dog friendly. We will stay again. Two issues - the bathrooms were not very well stocked ran out of TP and soap and communication before we arrived was lacking. Luckily we arrived on time, but found out when we got there they close at 5:30 however check-in had only started at 4 and it was a Friday. This should have been communicated in advance.

This is the only public shower in Tobermory that we could find. Hence the second star given... Thought it was going to be good but it was not. 4 showers at the same time. One got burned by hot water. One froze from cold water. Water pressure was horrid to say the least. Two toonies lasted about 60 seconds, water shut off and left me covered in soap head to toe. Put more money in just to have the water BARELY trickle out, and I mean barely. I hardly got the soap off myself it was so bad. Very angering. Oh andddd they ONLY accept toonies. The lady behind the counter was not helpful at all. Hardly even friendly. If you go, bring lots of toonies, prepare to freeze or be burnt and prepare to get angry at how bad the water pressure is. Also, don't bother asking any questions because she clueless and will have no answers. Next trip to Tobe were bringing a rechargable camp shower and a bucket.

We got false hope from the new management in this property. Back story is, we booked 2 cabins for the weekend. If my gf didn’t inquire to make sure our booking i still on, we wouldn’t know they have a problem in their property. Day before our stay, the management canceled on us. They could have told us earlier that week, in that way, we could find a place to stay. The only reason that this is not a 1 star review because they refunded our money.

We had an amazing weekend, the guy in charge was super helpful and friendly and the bathrooms were always clean! The cabin was perfect and the sites allow privacy unlike some other places. We were super glad there was a fire pit and picnic table and you really can’t beat the price either, we will definitely be back!

Good place, everything is clean. Nice owner, very quick respond and helpful. No electricity in the Cabin but there is wifi.

Store has VERY limited supplies… have been multiple times for live bait worms for fishing and a few other small items that most stores would carry and nothing is in stock.

Spectacular well priced cabins. Craig is extremely friendly and on top of pretty much single handily running the camp ground, he also runs the store and does all the cleaning. And despite all that still finds time to drop firewood off to you when you purchase it. Will not hesitate to rebook here again in the future.

Just stayed at roxys cabins for a week. Owners were friendly and did a goodjob at keeping the place clean and tidy. stayed in one of the cabins #2 and it happened to be at the bottom of a hill so when it rained our site was muddy the rest of the week also the site we were on and many others were very rocky my dogs leash was getting caught on so many rocks in the ground she ended up pulling so many of them up I think we did the owners a favor lol. We played our music until whatever time and just made sure to respect others around and we had no complaints or anything about loud music. everyone else who was camping to was respectful and quiet. other than the conditions of the campsite, then the conditions after the rain rolling down the hill into our site, was the showers. $2 for 2 mins!!! YIKES!!!!. As a family of 6 who was there with 8 people and down there for 6 days that's a lot of money!! they really need to make that cost less. especially for the people camping. no visitors are allowed either. I dont know if we will come back to this campsite. due to the showers. campsite grounds and no visitors. some of these places seem to be hit or miss in tobermory you either get a place that wont allow music or wont allow visitors or wont allow alcohol. make sure you find one that allows them all

Stopped here for showers whilst staying at Bruce Peninsula National Park. The full-sized showers are coin operated at $2 / 2 min. toonies only, though we were reassured by the storekeeper that we can get change from him and located in separate, locking rooms that contain clothing hooks and a shelf. The showers have seating and the water temperature changes quickly. Outside your individual shower room, there are full-size mirrors and sinks. No hair dryers, but there are power outlets if you wish to bring your own tools.
