A visit inside the Tobermory Trading Post is a fresh dive into Canadian culture, a trip back in time into Tobermory’s earliest years as a trading post between European settlers and First Nations that inhabited the area. The sight of a full wolf skin hanging on the wall exhumes cultural and historical relevance, and is highly symbolic of Tobermory earliest years in the fur trade, and is in and of itself itself worth a quick visit. The Town of Tobermory would not be the same without the iconic Trading Post.
at first when we came in there was nobody around and then a lady shown up from the outside ... like it was painful to come inside to serve customer and then a other lady come in and the start chatting together ... no question ask or no help offer there was few good item but mostly expensive a small coffee mug cost around 25 $ save some footstep and good elsewhere
Later in the season, but the store shelves were pretty barebones. Not many choices for sizes in the clothing area and many shelves were empty. Not much to buy.
Nice store. Sweatshirts not Canadian made by any sorts. Nice moccasins, fair price. The store owner could smile and be friendlier. But who knows what her story is. Maybe we all should help put a smile on her face...
Some cute Tobermorey momentums and bought t-shirt and sweatshirt and a couple of toys. Prices are comparable. Shop keepers need to be aware of customers and try to be friendlier. Doesn't take much and you might just get better sales. Tobermorey is beautiful otherwise.
Store is beautiful with many great items. BUT couldn't help noticing the two ladies behind the counter were making comments about each customer as they came in. I purchased two beautiful stained glass suncatchers as gifts which were lovely. But the cashier unbeknownst to me removed the window suction cups for using them when processing the sale. I would never have purchased them without. They are useless and somewhat ungiftable.
Liked some of the sayings on the board. But there weren’t much collection to shop from.
Not bad but VERY pricy. Somewhat as expected for a gift shop. $21 for a hat…
Excellent service picking out moccasins and a hoodie. Nice stuff, somewhat pricy but comparable to tourist towns.
