Route 97 Diner

I liked the place! The food is roadside comfort food - the fries are great! Eat in or take away. Service was prompt and smiley! Clean bathroom, and there are some homemade pies & local nick-nacks you can pick up while you wait.

Stopped in to make a purchase so that I may be able to use the washroom as there was a sign stating "washrooms for customers only". Just as a side note,I really have to say that there is a real shortage of washroom facilities available to the public, along this route! Anyways, purchased a butter tart from the cooler by the register and was floored when the attendant stated that it was 3.25 and on top of that while using the debit machine to pay for it, an additional mysterious ".25 interact fee" came up , making my final total 3.40 for this darned butter tart. A quick thought came to mind, "This butter tart had better be good for that price"! After purchasing, I quickly made my way to the washroom around the corner just to find it locked. A very nice polite young man arrived with a key, stating that the doors were kept locked, and like the gentleman he was, insisted that I go in first :) I thanked him and hurriedly did my business and left. Some time later, thinking about that butter tart, I ate it and I'm sorry to say it just wasn't good and it certainly wasn't worth the 3.40, I paid. While the atmosphere was quaint and the local folk friendly, the butter tart was so overpriced for what I got,sadly.

This is a quaint little dinner. Atmosphere was great. Service wasn't wonderful. One of our party ordered chicken strips. They were the toughest strips I've ever seen, definitely not edible. We advised our waitress and her response was along the lines of "good to know". The burgers were delicious though. Unfortunately, don't think we'll be stopping there again 😢

Good food in a cozy lack back atmosphere. Small menu but food is well prepared. Small size restaurant great for a quick lunch.

We had a great lunch at the diner today. Love the 50's atmosphere! Good service and fantastic food. We'll go back for sure!
