Painted Turtle Restaurant

What an absolute gem of a find!nnThis place was right on the lakefront, glorious views, a nice forest hike nearby, stunnnnning location for the restaurant and campsite!nnThe food is superb; I’m tucking into the black bean chilli right now but writing this before I forget to post this review nnGood big menu, good portions, good prices, and a big drink choice too. I’m veggie so was pleased they had several options.nnAnd my waitress was really helpful with tips for getting around locally, very welcoming.nnThank you for having me!

We had a great dinner here. The food was 4/5 and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. They were full when we arrived so the hostess suggested we wait at the bar for a table. That worked great and we soon had an excellent table with a perfect view out over Dutch Lake. You can’t beat this location.

Aug 14/25nHave been to the restaurant few times. It is right by Dutch Lake. Very beautiful scenery, especially at fall. The food they served was very good too. We all enjoyed it.

The Painted Turtle in Clearwater is a hidden gem. It’s tucked away on beautiful Dutch Lake, one of the most amazing little lakes you’ll ever see. The food is outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and made with care. What makes it even better is the setting: sitting lakeside with great people around you. It’s the kind of place you don’t just eat at, you remember.

A thoroughly enjoyable culinary experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing flavours and the very accommodating servers. We ordered chicken quesadillas with Caesar salad, a Reuben with strawberry spinach salad, fish and chips, and lemon cake. Each entrée was so delicious we all had to sample each other's food. Our server was very helpful with making substitutions and providing detailed information about the dishes so we could avoid allergens. The menu features an enticing selection of items that are made from scratch so the ingredients aren't a mystery.nAdd to this the wonderful ambiance provided by dining next to beautiful Dutch Lake and you have a most satisfying restaurant experience. I am looking forward to returning to this lovely establishment in the near future.
