The Packing House

One of our most fondest memories of our road trip down highway 1 was stopping at The Packing House for dinner. On this particular day, we were driving from Kamloops to Vancouver and we decided to take the scenic route. We opened Google Maps and asked it for a restaurant along the route to stop at, and The Packing House was the one we chose at random, and we’re so glad that we did. Everything about this place is perfect: The backdrop, the vibe, the unique coziness of the place, the warmth of the staff, the absolutely delicious food, it was just perfect all around. We shared the most amazing hamburger soup which I had never had before along with their unreal garlic toasts. We also shared a ham and cheese toastie and a pasta carbonara with chicken. All of the food was amazing. To make the experience even more of a joy, one of the regulars had her dog at the restaurant along with another doggy that she was babysitting. They were so happy to see us and they made my day. The experience here will stay with us for a long time. We really hope to make it back again one day. Ordered a bunch of eggs sunny side up and they came out perfect. Toast was fresh and homemade. It’s like eating at grandma’s house. Will be back when passing through town. Prices were reasonable too

Pretty good meal just super slow with only one other table at the time. I waited 30 mins for a to-go omelette. It was very tasty though!!!

Great spot for lunch we had the roast beef and roasted turkey sandwiches with the soup and it was delicious. The servers were lovely. Highly recommend

Have you ever been in a restaurant and feel like it wasn’t a restaurant but a family house because of the food? Like, it was made by a mom or grandma … well that’s exactly my feeling. From the moment you arrive there, without pronouncing a word, you get that feeling like you know you hit the jackpot with the food: delicious, homemade, heartfelt, and from the moment you have the first taste, you confirm it! Joy and warm feelings.
