Took my family here tonight and Roscoe's sure did NOT disappoint! We had catfish, collard greens, okra, red beans and rice, gumbo, gyro sandwich, Philly cheese steak sandwich, a burger, and fries. All of us cleared our plates even after being stuffed by the large portions. Service was great and Roscoe came and personally greeted us. I grew up in the south, so I have eaten my share of southern food. Let me tell you.... Roscoe's is sure to deliver more than you could ever imagine possible in Anchorage, Alaska and even gives those southern states a run for their money! Prices were a bit high, but not much off of what you shell out for the typical sane-ole, same-ole plate at every other place. Personally, I think it's worth the price when considering what you get.

Roscoe's delivered the goods when my family wanted great catfish and southern cuisine. Growing up in the south, I've had my share of catfish and such, yet Roscoe's would beat most of those places. We had a Philly cheese steak, a gyro sandwich, 2 catfish plates, collard greens, red beans and rice, okra, and gumbo. Then common denominator.....clean plates! Delicious!!! Roscoe came and personally greeted us and we had excellent customer service. Thank you!

I need to work through more of the menu, but my first meal at Roscoe's was extremely promising. These might be the best fried catfish strips I've ever had; better than some well-known places in the Deep South. The fried okra was perfect, well-seasoned, and crispy with no interior slime. Great sweet tea and decent mac and cheese also, but I'm going to be dreaming about that catfish.

Saw the sign for this place from the window of the Anchorage Museum. Walked over just to see. I was warmly greeted by two ladies. I told them I don't eat fish, so I was having trouble deciding what to get. They talked up the fish and how good it was. Well, they talked me into trying the AK seafood gumbo. And now I guess I eat fish. It was delicious. One of the waitresses even got me a strip of catfish to try since I told her I'd never eaten it on account of always feeling like fish was gross. The catfish was really tasty! Good food and really friendly staff the day I went in. Roscoe even came out to say hi to me. I'd recommend this place.

Sat down with a friend. After 20 minutes (I timed it) my friend decides to ask the waitress for water. At this point there is only 4 customers including my party. A single patron arrives followed quickly by another couple. So, that's a total of 7 customers. Waitress takes our order, obviously under the influence of some substance, and tells us to, "hurry up, I have other customers"..... yeah, they've been sitting for 30 minutes at this point and they don't even have drinks. (This place is maybe 20x15 ft space. She scurries away, skips the single guest who arrived first, and takes the couples order. This is where it gets good. She tells the single dude, "I'll be right back", pulls money from the register and walks out the front door. Never saw her again. At this point we're all looking at each other (me and the other guests) wondering what's going on. A different lady appears from the back, and we inform her of what happened. She pretended to be appalled. Long story short, the missing waitress never put in our orders, when it came, it came out wrong. The couple mouthed to us, "don't get the gumbo", and that single guy still hadn't gotten his coke. I don't know what restaurant these other reviews are for, but when I tell this story to anyone who has eaten there even once, they have a similar story to tell. You TOURISTS - don't be fooled. Walk up the road to Humpy's or Snow City (not the sandwich shop! Wait the 20 minutes to be sat)
