I have been there two times and both times it was lovely. I am not sure why everyone is complaining about their prices when their portions are so big, at least for the falafel sandwich and the cookies. I paid around $15 don’t remember exactly, it might have been $14 for the sandwich and I couldn’t finish it, it was extremely delicious but so big that I was full halfway. My friend ordered a schnitzel sandwich and she was delighted but couldn’t finish it either. Compare it with other places: you do pay easily $15 for a meal and it might not even be that big, not to mention the delicious taste. The cookies are $5 each and compared to any other chocolate chip cookie I had they’re easily double the size. I bought two, one for me, one for my husband and we ended up eating both of us one. So impressed by how soft the chocolate was, and I am sure there were two types of chocolate as some looked darker than other. The place is simply beautiful, and the owner and the people working there are very welcoming. Very nicely decorated and cozy, I loved the music too! Without a doubt my favourite place for breakfast in the neighbourhood. I wish they would have a changing table for the babies in the washroom but maybe sometime in the future .
This place is great! The iced latte was really good, but the giant cookie stole the show! . They have a nice patio. The challahs and sandwiches looked amazing. I'll definitely be back!
Been to Romi twice now since the summer. Great spot for St. Claire West! Right beside Bar Ape Gelato. I got a plain challah and lemonade on my first visit. Got a 3 pack of Falafel and a lemon splitz on my 2nd visit. Both were amazing. The falafels were crunchy on the outside but fluffy and moist on the inside. One of the best falafels in the city that I've tried.
Romis is truly something special. With some of the best challah bread we have had in the city, it gets even better when they fill and stuff it with incredible flavours like their chicken schnitzel or their breakfast challah sandwich. If you haven't been, I would highly recommend making your way down - it may be a little bit of a wait, but let me assure you that it is well worth it. Beware: you might need to go earlier on in the day because they do sell out QUICK - a testament to what they're bringing to the table. Bravo to the team at Romis, cannot wait to come back!
#DTREVIEWS This place it’s up to the hype, challah bread is very soft and fresh. And we had two very tasty sandwiches. The lemonade was insane! I do agree with other reviewers about the price point, I spent around 70$ ordering food for two people, but I understand that it’s top quality ingredients. Would come back for sure!!
Edit: Challah is unfortunately fairly pricy and small, even though the quality is great. Unclear why it needs to be this expensive. Still happy to come for coffee and a pastry Original: Welcome addition to the neighborhood. Good place to get some coffee with some great options for sandwiches, pastries and various options for challah, including a vegan one. Their babka is lovely indulgent, eat in moderation if you can manage it. Sticks a bit to the tray, which could be improved, but no complaints on taste and texture. Definitely going here regularly from now on.
Interesting place, as a Palestinian I subconsciously avoid Jewish restaurants because they gouge you for money, but this place had a different vibe. It was very welcoming and friendly and owners don't make a living by taking Palestinian food and suddenly making it Israeli. Very good sandwiches and reasonably priced. I didn't try the bakery but it looked amazing and reminded me a lot of home. I will have some Chalah next time.
This place has incredible baked goods. So fresh and tasty. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich here and it was one of the best I’ve ever had . Will definitely be back!
Very disorganized and displeasing service. Coffee and desserts in my personal opinion were not worth the price, especially for being so mediocre. First of all the wait time. We ordered 2 cortados, a brownie, and a Nutella croissant. It took approximately 25 minutes for them to give us only the cortados. The barista and cashier were not coordinating very well with each other, and forgot to give us our desserts. And when asking where to get our desserts the barista had a noticeable attitude towards my partner which I did not respect. Cortados were very weak, and flavourless. Was not worth the $4.50. The brownie tasted okay, but the croissant was very disappointing. $3 for a 3-4 inch croissant is not what I expected. Tasted like it was not fresh, and very dry. It was very hard. Would not come here again, they need to focus on managing a busy crowd and their food quality
Delicious lunch spot, the truffle hummus bowl was huge and super tasty, and the falafels are so good. The patio was also spacious and comfortable. Great spot!Food: 5/5
