Amore da Roma

Just experienced a private party here. The food was phenomenal. The wine was superb. Our waiter let us sample a small variety of wine before choosing it. This restaurant has kept the food, wait staff and updated the atmosphere of the old Roma restaurant. The food, people and restaurant are responsible for giving my wife the best birthday of her life. This even includes the one she had here 44 years ago

I want to preface my comments by saying that I have been a long time patron of the previous Roma Cafe. My wife and I went to Roma on Valentine's Day and were very disappointed with the food and our waiter. I tried something different and ordered the steak with Sicilian "finish" - medium rare. The steak came out blood rare and the cut of meat was terrible - many hard "tendons" throughout the meat. Our waiter was a nice guy, but he is missing all of the little things that the former Roma waiters did - we had to ask for bread multiple times, same thing with the Parmesan cheese, drink refills and etc. All the while, we watched the other waiter in the room busting his butt for his customers. It was like "here's your meal, let me know when your finished so that I can flip this table." Come on Roma - bring back the old atmosphere and up your game on the food.

The food was not bad. However my wife ordered a meal that was to contain prosciutto but only two little pieces could be found in the whole meal. My beer glass twice came out smelling like amonia and the noise was excessive. We could not even talk. Our reservation was for 6:30 and were not seated until 7:10. We won't go back until the get their act cleaned up and quieted down. If they want to be an upscale dining establishment, they will have to tell the loud-mouthed patrons to keep it down.

Wow is all I can say!!! The waiter, Fred was on his A game. The food....ohhh the food....started with the black bean soup, it was delicious. I chose the chicken parmesan with eggplant.....somewhat cautious, as I'm kinda picky about eggplant, was incredible. It was a tremendous serving of both a wonderfully breaded chicken cutlet and several slices of delicious eggplant. The bread was fresh and crusty with real cream butter. The salad was fresh and crispy. I don't believe I could have had a better meal. And I commend Fred my waiter....JOB WELL DONE!!!

We were excited to try this authentic Italian restaurant! Unfortunately we left disappointed... Our waiter was more worried about taking care of the “regulars” sitting around us. It took 25 min to take our order and when we asked about food on the menu, he was rude and spoke to us like we were idiots. This was our first time and wanted to see what he recommended. We were an afterthought and won’t be going back.
